Prior to joining Visa, Wassmann gained a great deal of experience in the
product licensing industry in the areas of business marketing and development for
companies such as Disney, Warner Brothers and Universal.
RICARDO MARTINEZ, Regional Channel Manager, McAfee Inc. has
over 10 years experience in the technology field, from Network Security Consulting,
Internet Services, Cable Services and Telephony as well as management and
consulting. Mr. Martinez’s career has been focused on introducing innovative
solutions to the market and most recently in the network security field.
Prior to joining McAfee Inc, Mr. Martinez held leadership and consulting
positions focusing on Information Technology security services where he had
founded Sure-Lock Net Security one of the first network security firms in the
Dominican Republic. As well as founding PlantinomNet the first independent
Internet Service Provider in the Dominican Republic. He has worked with Tricom,
where he helped launch the first Broadband Cable Modem service and CODETEL
formerly known as Verizon.
EARL H. ANDERSON, Vice President, Commercial Operations Business
Solutions, Cable and Wireless, Jamaica has over 30 years’ experience in
telecommunications. Earl’s professional career covered the CTO role at Gotel
Communications, and key Technical Consulting roles at Lucent Technologies and
AT&T. He did earlier work in international telecommunication standards at
American National Standards Institute (ANSI), National Institute of Standards &
Technologies (NIST) in the USA and ITU in Geneva. He was involved in
telecommunications systems testing and technical training with Telecordia (Bell
Communications Research), held an Outside Plant Design Engineering position
in Southern Bell (now Bell South) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and previous
Electronic Systems Engineering and design roles in Bell Telephone Laboratories,
Western Electric Engineering Research Centre and Novatronics. Furthermore, as
a consultant he was instrumental in the deployment of the “Voyageur” Internet
service, Basic Rate ISDN and Comverse voicemail platforms at CWJ. In addition,
as a consultant he provided his services to corporate enterprises in Jamaica such
as BOJ, Grace Kennedy, and Student’s Loan Bureau.
Earl is an accomplished Engineer, with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
from Pratt Institute and MSc Electrical Engineering from Columbia University.
CHRIS EVANS, Founder and CEO, Foreshore Limited, a Jersey, Channel
Island based e-commerce services company that built, in 1999, the first international
class internet data centre that was specifically designed to meet the exacting needs
of offshore e-commerce and financial services.
He has been involved in the creation and running of a number of successful
information technology businesses over the last 20 years.
He founded Foreshore in 1999. Currently, Foreshore provides “non-stop
hosting” services to some of Europe’s largest internet retailers and a number of
the world’s top 100 banks. It also delivers a range of specialist storage and
messaging services designed to reinforce organisations’ business contingency
plans.
LISA S. BELL, Executive Director, Services, Jamaica Trade & Invest
(JAMPRO) where she oversees the operations of Business Development, Business
Facilitations, Export Development & Private Sector Development Project –
Corporate Finance Brokerage.
Before working at JAMPRO, Lisa worked at Victoria Mutual Investments
Limited as Manager, Corporate Credit & Marketing she was then promoted to
Assistant General Manager, then General Manager, responsible for the overall
operations of the entity which included the management of a $800m loan portfolio
and the development of fee based services.
Mrs. Bell was then appointed Deputy General Manager of Alpha Financial
Services Ltd. As a result of the merger in operations of Victoria Mutual Investments
Ltd., a related entity in the Victoria Mutual Group of Companies. Her responsibilities
were similar to her previous position as well as having direct responsibility for
stock brokerage transactions, review, impact assessment, and implementation of
various legislative changes, special projects and a broader role in the development
of fee-based financial products and services.
