Museum Adventure Pass Public libraries in Minneapolis, St. Paul and the Metro Area give out The
Museum Adventure Pass. Each pass gives the holder two or four free admissions to a museum or attraction.
Twenty museums, galleries, zoos and historic sites in Minneapolis and St. Paul are offering free admissions this
year. Some museums that aren’t as common include: Bakken Museum of Electricity and Magnetism, The Rail-
road Museum, Firefighters Hall & Museum, The Works: A Technology Discovery Center
Summit Brewery Tours Tues and Thursday at 1pm, some Saturdays at 10:30 am and 1pm. Call to make

Mississippi River Visitor Center in St. Paul
Located in downtown St. Paul, just off the lobby of the Science Museum of Minnesota, the Mississippi River
Visitor Center serves as a gateway to adventure along the Mighty Mississippi. Operated by the National Park
Service and staffed with park rangers, the Visitor Center is free and open to the public.
Visitors may be surprised to discover recreational resources right in their own backyard -- from canoe trips to
riverboat excursions, from birding to biking to hiking.
Hours and Contact Information: The Mississippi River Visitor Center is usually open seven days a
week. Hours are Sunday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday hours are

To qualify for a permanent angling license in MN, you must provide documentation that you meet the eligibility
for one of the following statutes:

and older who is developmentally disabled upon furnishing satisfactory evidence of the disability.
A doctor’s statement/diagnosis of the applicant’s disability must accompany this application.

and has a 100 % service connected disability as defined by the United States Veterans Administration upon

Interested in fishing but don't have a boat? Try your angling luck at one of Minnesota's 200-plus fishing piers
and on-shore platforms. These piers and platforms are in urban and rural areas, on everything from small
rivers to large lakes throughout the state. Fishing piers and on-shore fishing are designed to meet the needs of
people with physical disabilities, with protective railings or edges around them. The levels of accessibility of
nearby parking areas and the paths leading to the piers and platforms vary from site to site.

Free Live Outdoor Music at the Minnesota History Center
Tuesday evenings
6:30 to 8 pm
The popular series presents the rich and vibrant rhythms and sounds of Minnesota’s multi-cultural
community at free outdoor performances at the Minnesota History Center. Listen to infectious music
and get out your dancing shoes for saucy salsa, soulful Motown, and classic big band swing! Co-sponsor
Tapestry Folkdance Center provides instructors to lead the way. Bring a lawn chair, and pack a picnic or
purchase food from the Café Minnesota terrace grill. Performances are free and held on the Laura Jane Musser
Plaza at the Minnesota History Center. In case of inclement weather, events will move inside. Programs subject to
change. Museum galleries are open until 8 pm and the admission fee is waived on Tuesday evenings.

Songs of Hope
Each summer, up to 75 children and adults venture to Minnesota from Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin
America, the Middle East, and the U.S. They arrive as strangers but soon find themselves embraced
in a closely-knit, supportive community as they learn popular songs and dances from each other’s
cultures. Then, they take these songs of peace, love, and respect into neighboring communities in a
joyous celebration of cultural unity, delighting their audiences along the way.
