The Big Table Experience at The Strawberry Tree
The ultimate dining experience! You and your friends will be

For your special occasion, you and your friends will be
seated in the convivial setting of a traditional big table with
artisan foods prepared by the kitchen of Ireland’s only
certified Organic Restaurant, The Strawberry Tree.
The Big Table provides a unique opportunity for The
Strawberry Tree Kitchen to prepare Foods and a Menu that
simply cannot be served in a normal restaurant setting,
presented on a single table that can stretch from 12 to 40
people.
Commencing with a glass of Bubbly in the Waterside Lounge
you are escorted by our Restaurant Manager to your table
and then begin with a simple pre-starter, all the food then
arrives together to The Big Table in the style of a Feast and is
presented on platters in the centre of the table for guest to
pick and choose, and to mix and match the foods 'til their
hearts content!! Guests are encouraged to help serve the
person on both sides of them, helping to add to the
conviviality and atmosphere of the table. Watch out
though - for some of your friends will think that they are
Waiter of the Year, where they decide to serve everyone at
the table! Our Sommelier will select the wine to complement
the menu that day – once the menu for tonight has been
chosen.
After enjoying a selection plate of desserts guests can help themselves to some wonderful Organic
Cheeses, which are kept at perfect temperature in the old wine cellar.
Even the menu is presented in a different style in that rather than the recipe been highlighted, it is
the supplier, farmer or artisan producer that is named and written about. To whet your appetite,
there is a sample menu on page 2!
The Big Table is hosted in the unique setting of The Strawberry Tree, situated Georgina Campbell’s
Hotel of the Year 2010 and AA Hotel of the Year 2009 - The BrookLodge Hotel and Wells Spa. Only
the finest wild and organic foods are served. The restaurant is at the forefront of organic dining.

Macreddin Smoked Salmon
We have always been happy with our own Smoked Salmon, but this year we have really
cracked it with the most succulent smoke of all. Cut vertically, all three flavours of smoke can be
tasted at one time.
St. Tola Goats Cheese
St.Tola Organic Goat Cheese has been made in Inagh in West Clare since the early 1980's.
Siobhan Ni Ghairbhith and her team farm over 250 goats organically, and tonight we are
marrying this unique cheese with the Confit Cherry Tomatoes.
Macreddin Smoked Beef
We got our first real smoker from Innes Walker 1999. Innes is a fabulous Scottish lady who showed
us how to really smoke foods. This Beef is one of our proudest smokes.
Wild Garlic Roast Chicken
Paul Crotty in Co. Cork produces our Organic Poultry and tonight we have coupled Paul`s
superb chickens with fresh wild garlic which we picked in April at our Secret Location.
Slow Cooked Spring Lamb
Here it is! The Season has started. We are glad to present to you this year's lamb, done in the
Strawberry Tree way. Cooked at low temperature for at least 14 hours. We get our lamb from
Jimmy Mullhall in Co. Carlow.
Turf Roasted Beef
Organic Irish Angus Beef roasted in "The Salt Crust" style but using flaked Irish turf to give a full
sense of "Terroir".
Steamed Wild Ling, Wild Dillisk Cream
Colin O'Shea (Our Fishmonger) down in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford brought us some Fresh Ling,
which we serve with a Dillisk Cream.
Our Vegetables and Leaves
Tonight's Vegetables and Salads come from two Organic Farms in Wicklow. Mark and Alan's in
Aughrim, and from Denis Healy's in Baltinglass. Between them, they supply the complete
vegetables year round for The Strawberry Tree.
Except Where Underlined as Wild, The Entire Dinner Menu is Organic
The Strawberry Tree is the only certified Organic Restaurant in Ireland.
