                                           Itinerary


FRIDAY JUNE 25 (B,D)
DAY ONE   / DEPARTURE
          Depart Home airport for Munich, Germany
          Meals and movies in flight

SATURDAY JUNE 26                 (D)
DAY TWO ARRIVAL / MUNICH
         Morning arrival at the Munich airport. Clear Immigration and customs, collect
         luggage, meet tour manager and depart for a lunch stop at Marienplatz.
         Afternoon hotel check in
         Dinner either at the hotel or in the area
         This evening is free to relax following your long plane ride.

SUNDAY JUNE 27                    (B,D)
DAY THREE MUNICH
          Breakfast at hotel followed by Singing during a mass-service in a
          church in Munich or surroundings followed by a Short Concert of the choir
          (can be confirmed after receiving the detailed music information material of the
          group)
          Today also enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Munich with a English/German
          speaking guide.
          Dinner at the hotel or nearby restaurant.
          Early this evening, after dinner, we will either take a stroll in the Famous English
          Gardens of Munich, one of the largest garden parks in all of Europe; or visit the
          famous site of the 1972 Munich Summer Olympic Games.

MONDAY JUNE 28                   (B,D)
DAY FOUR MUNICH / VIENNA
         Breakfast at hotel followed by check out
         Depart Munich for Vienna. Lunch stop along the way. (travel time 5.5 hours)
         Sightseeing along the way.
         Afternoon arrival in Vienna
         This evening we will enjoy a visit to the Vienna Prater, a large amusement park
         within the municipal area between the Danube and the Danube Canal. Although
         this is a very old amusement park (with a giant Ferris Wheel built in 1840) it has
         been updated with many modern rides.
TUESDAY JUNE 29                         (B,D)
DAY FIVE VIENNA
          Breakfast at our accommodations followed by a day city sightseeing tour of
          Vienna with a licensed English/German speaking guide. Sights of interest might
          include: a stroll down the main street of Karntnerstrasse, the magnificent St.
          Stephen’s Cathedral, the Vienna Opera House, Altes Rathaus (old city hall), and
          many other churches, cathedrals and concert halls.
          Afternoon visit to Schönbrunn Palace. This magnificent baroque palace on the
          premises of former hunting grounds was the summer home of Emperor Leopold I.
          Construction first began in 1695 and the Palace was completed in 1713.
          Dinner in the area

WEDNESDAY JUNE 30              (B,D)
DAY SIX VIENNA
        Breakfast at our accommodations followed by a day excursion to Eisenstadt and
        visit the Esterhazy Schloss, the Eisenstadt chateau of the Esterhazy princes where
        Franz Joseph Haydn worked as a composer for many years. Also visit the
        Haydn House, the little Eisenstadt home of the composer from 1766-1778, which
        is now a museum. There will be time for lunch in the town of Eisenstadt.
        This evening we will Perform at a suitable performance venue in Vienna or
        surroundings (can be confirmed after receiving the detailed music information
        material of the group)

THURSDAY JULY 1                  (B,D)
DAY SEVEN VIENNA / SALZBURG
          Breakfast followed by check out and departure for Salzburg via Danube Valley to
          Salzburg – stop in Melk and an optional visit of Melk abbey or a stop at St.
          Florian, home of the famous baroque monastery of the order of St. Augustine.
          After check in at our accommodations and dinner we will then enjoy the
          Welcome evening with get-together party - snack buffet of the International
          Salzburg Choral Festival.

FRIDAY JULY 2                    (B,D)
DAY EIGHT SALZBURG
          Today we will participate in the activities of the International Salzburg Choral
          Festival including the Festival Concert of the participating groups at the
          internationally acclaimed “Grosser Saal Mozarteum”
          Also included in either today’s or tomorrow’s activities (according to Festival
          schedule) will be the opportunity for the choir to sing during a mass-service in
          Salzburg or surroundings
SATURDAY JULY 3                   (B,D)
DAY NINE SALZBURG
         After breakfast at our accommodations we will experience the “Sound of Music
         Tour” that will take us to many of the film sites of this historic movie. One of the
         stops of this tour will take us to the lake town of Mondsee, site of the famous
         wedding chapel scene of the “Sound of Music”. There will be time for lunch in
         either Mondsee or another of the lake towns on the tour.
         Later this afternoon we will enjoy a half-day walking city tour of historic
         Salzburg

SUNDAY JULY 4                     ( B,D)
DAY TEN   SALZBURG
          This morning we will have some free time for shopping in the historic old town
          of Salzburg. You might want to plan a visit to the famous birthplace (house) of
          Mozart, in the heart of old Salzburg.
          After lunch we will meet at Mirabel Gardens for an afternoon concert
          performance in this beautiful outdoor setting.
          This evening we will experience the farewell buffet-dinner with Austrian
          entertainment (the participation at the festival will be confirmed through the
          Festival president of the Chorus MM society after receiving the detailed music
          material)

MONDAY JULY 5                   (B)
DAY ELEVEN       SALZBURG / MUNICH /
         Breakfast at hotel followed by check out and departure for Munich Flughafen
         (think “flight haven” and you are already understanding German!)
         (2 hour drive)
         Depart Munich for home
