Emily Bensinger concentrates her practice on commercial, labor and employment, and
environmental matters in federal and state courts and before various administrative bodies
including the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, Pennsylvania Environmental
Hearing Board and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She has worked
with clients in the environmental, insurance, financial services, higher education, waste
management, residential development, real estate and mining industries, among others.

Past and current representations include:
 s   Second-chairing a nine-day trial before the Environmental Hearing Board involving the denial of a
     developer's requested planning module for a 13-lot subdivision in Chester County, Pennsylvania
 s   Defending a life insurance company against claims brought by an insured related to fraud allegedly
     perpetrated by her insurance agent, and obtaining dismissal of all claims against her client
 s   Representing a technical/vocational educational institution before the Pennsylvania Board of Claims
     in its claims against the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry for payment under a
     federally-funded training program
 s   Defending a school district against a breach of contract claim brought by a subcontractor
 s   Defending a real estate agency in numerous fraud and misrepresentation claims brought by

Labor and Employment:
 s   Defending a healthcare management company against sexual harassment and wrongful discharge
     claims brought by a former employee
 s   Defending a school district against a due process claim brought under the Pennsylvania School Code
 s   Defending an operator of general acute care hospitals in a whistleblower claim brought by a former
 s   Defending a data and information security company in sexual harassment and discrimination claims
     brought before the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission by a former employee
 s   Drafting employee handbooks and employment policies for a wide range of industry clients

Emily also represents structured settlement and lottery prize assignment funding companies
to secure court approval of structured settlements and lottery prize assignments under the
Pennsylvania Structured Settlement Protection Act and the Pennsylvania Lottery Law.

In collaboration with the members of the firm's Labor and Employment Practice Group,
Emily writes a monthly article published in the Pennsylvania Employment Law Letter, an
M. Lee Smith Publication on recent developments in labor and employment law. She has
also spoken at the Pennsylvania Best Places to Work conference on current labor and
employment topics, including recent efforts by some states to establish workplace bullying

Emily currently serves as the President of the Junior Board of the YWCA of Greater
Harrisburg, a group of young women dedicating to creating awareness and supporting the
mission of the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg, particularly through efforts to improve the
YWCA's rural camp for the children served by the YWCA, Camp Reily.

While in law school, Emily served as a law clerk at a Harrisburg law firm and interned for the
Honorable J. Michael Eakin, Pennsylvania Supreme Court. She also volunteered with the
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Prior to attending law school, she was a legal
assistant at a Lancaster, Pennsylvania law firm.
