ONLINE CATALOGUE
You now have access to online services: You may consult the library catalogue on the Internet and find out whether
certain titles are available. In addition, members may consult their user file (with a password), renew their loans and
put a hold on specific titles.

Click on the Services & Collections tab and then on the Online catalog option.
To sign up for this free service and obtain your personal identification number (PIN) and password, just go to the library
with your membership card or identification documents (new membership).

RENEWALS BY PHONE (ONLY DURING LIBRARY HOURS)
You may renew your loans by telephone. Simply call the library and mention your name or membership number.
No renewals for loans that are returned late or that have been reserved.

WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY
Laptop users can now connect to the Web at the library with wireless technology.

Nine computers in a room reserved for adults.

WORKROOMS
To do research, homework or any other group work, users may reserve a workroom up to 48 hours in advance
(not more than twice a week), either in person or by telephone. These rooms are reserved for groups of two to
eight people (minimum age 12 - junior year high school), at least one of whom must be a library member.

1 BIRTH - 1 BOOK
The objective of this program is to promote a taste for reading at a very early age. Each new member, age one or
under, is eligible to receive a baby reader kit. This kit consists of two hardcover books and a copy of Magazine Enfants.
It will provide infants with an opportunity to handle books, give them an interest in looking at them and, eventually,
a taste for reading. To receive a kit one of the infant's parents should come to the library with proof of the infant's
birth (ex: birth certificate, health insurance card) as well as proof of the parent’s residence.

MEMBERSHIP
Free for residents upon presentation of an ID card. The presence of a parent is required for the membership of any
youngster under age 16.

INTERNET (FREE)
Sixteen computers are available for all library users (maximum two hours per day). You may buy a diskette or print on
site, at minimal cost.

WORD PROCESSING SOFTWARE AND SEVERAL DOCUMENT RETRIEVAL SOFTWARE PROGRAMS (FREE)
Software available in both languages are Office 2003, including Access, Excel, FrontPage, PowerPoint, Publisher,

BASKETBALL CLUB
Rosemère’s Basketball Club is back for the third year in a row, with the
Steve Nash Youth Basketball (SNYB) program. This national program is offered
to young girls and boys between the ages of 5 and 13. It is based on activities
focusing on enjoyment, health and fair play. Youngsters have many options to
choose from!
The official registration day will be on Sunday, September, 14, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., at Val-des-Ormes
school in Rosemère, 199 Grande-Côte Road. All registrations after that date will have to be sent by
e-mail or phoned in, and will be processed depending on whether there are still any places
available.

CORSAIRE-CHAPARAL TRACK AND FIELD CLUB
Corsaire-Chaparal track and field club (or COCH as it is commonly called)
serves the Lower Laurentians region and is open to all youngsters age 10
and over who want to acquire skills in the various track and field disciplines-
sprints, hurdles, middle-distance running, jumps and throws (shot put, discus,
hammer and javelin). The services provided by COCH include membership
in the Fédération québécoise d'athlétisme, a training program spread out
throughout the year and supervised by a team of thirteen trainers, registration
in the competitions (around 12) and supervision during these events.

The Town of Rosemère has reached an agreement with the towns of MRC Thérèse-De Blainville,
whereby the residents of these seven municipalities will have the opportunity to register for each
of these towns' activities, regardless of their place of residence. This agreement gives you access to
an extended program, at competitive prices. In fact, the municipalities concerned will not charge
any non-resident fees for activities covered by this agreement; consequently, Rosemerites may
register for one or more cultural workshops in an other town at no extra charge. This agreement
covers only cultural workshops for adults.

REGISTRATION AND REFUND PROCEDURES
Go to the municipality offering the workshop of your choice, at the time, day and location
indicated below. Proof of residence is still required to register at each of these municipalities.
We suggest that you first contact the municipality concerned to obtain information on this
requirement. You will be informed of activity locations at time of registration. As for refund
procedures, these will be subject to the current policy of the municipality offering the workshop.
