Use the provided graph paper to create a bar graph for each of the following problems.

After you complete your graph for each problem, answer the questions for each graph.



1. Mrs. Kelly’s class listed the following for their favorite snack foods. Chips were

liked by 7 students, cookies or cake by 9 students, candy by 5 students and fruit by 4

students.



Questions:

1. Which snack was liked by the most students? _________________________

2. Which snack was liked by the least number of students? _________________

3. What is the most appropriate title for this graph? _______________________

4. What scale did you use to represent the data for this graph? _______________





2. Mrs. Morris’s Fourth Grade Reading Classes made the following choices for

their favorite type of book they liked to read. Science = 12, Humor = 21, Mystery =

18, Historical Fiction = 15, and Other = 12.

2. What scale did you to represent your data? ____________________________

3. Which types of books were liked by the same number of students? _________

3. Mrs. Poole’s Fifth Grade Class recorded their favorite type of music. Four

students like Classical music, three students like Jazz, seven students like Folk, and

six students like Rock and Roll.

4. The students in Mrs. Payne’s class were surveyed to find out the Favorite

Bumper Cars : 8 boys 8 girls
