Restaurant Zoe
Just a short walk from Waterfront Landings, this restaurant at 2137 2nd Avenue (2nd and
Blanchard) is well worth it. The ambience is welcoming and the service is impeccable
and friendly. Our server was well informed and offered her personal suggestions – which
were excellent. The space itself is a bit crowded, but even so, you feel comfortable to
carry on a conversation in privacy. At Restaurant Zoe, the food is what matters and this
makes everyone happy to be there.
I met my date at the bar where we enjoyed a fine glass of wine and then were escorted to
our table right on time. We ordered salads to start: a young green salad with sherry Dijon
dressing and hazelnuts and a grilled romaine salad with apples, smoked bacon and
Roquefort dressing – both were excellent.
Main course dinners included a wide variety of fish and meats prepared in unique
manners. I ordered the crusted halibut with Israeli cous cous. It was exquisitely presented
and wonderful – I enjoyed every last bit. My friend ordered the spice crusted pork
tenderloin, their signature dish. It came with orange cinnamon cous cous, glazed pearl
onions, currants, and olives. It also was excellent!
Although the desserts looked tempting, chocolate mousse, buttermilk panna cotta, orange
ginger steamed pudding, or lemon raspberry cake, we were feeling content and happy
with our dinners and wine. This is truly a wonderful restaurant with great food, service,
and ambience.
