                      DEMOLITION REQUIREMENTS
_______________________________________________________________________


  1. Copy of survey indicating structure to be demolished.

  2. Letters from all utilities indicating that services have been disconnected:
         a. Electric company
         b. Gas company
         c. Water company
         d. Sewer utility
         e. Telephone company
         f. Cable (TV) company
         g. Etc.

  3. Letter from exterminator indicating structure has bee treated for rodent
     infestation.

  4. Copy of letter sent to all contiguous property owners, advising them of the date of
     proposed demolition.

  5. Asbestos abatement: Before a structure can be demolished or removed, the owner
     or agent shall document that the requirements of USEPA 40 CPR 61 subpart M
     have been or shall be met. A permit to demolish or remove the structure shall not
     be issued until the owner or agent notifies the enforcing agency that all friable
     asbestos or asbestos-containing material that will become friable during
     demolition or removal has been or will be properly abated prior to demolition.

  6. Removal of septic system must be verified by the Board of Health, call (973) 428-
     2524.

  7. Well must be capped by a certified licensed well driller in accordance with NJAC
     7:9-9.1 et seq. (list of licensed & certified well drillers can be obtained by
     contacting the Bureau of Water Allocation at (609) 984-6831.

  8. Lead abatement as per NJAC 5:17.

  9. Self-luminous exit signs: certification that said signs shall be disposed of in a
     manner consistent with Federal Regulations 10 CFR 31.5.

ASBESTOS HAZARDS:
An investigation of subject structure did not reveal any asbestos containing material. If
any material becomes apparent, it will be removed in accordance with USEPA 40 CFR
61 subpart M.

LEAD HAZARDS:
I have received a copy of the EPA fact sheet regarding lead hazards in accordance with
NJAC 5:17.

RECYCLING:
I have been advised that a Certificate of Approval is required upon completion of this
project in conformance with NJAC 5:23-2.23(j). To obtain requisite Certificate, a release
must be obtained by the Township Recycling Coordinator must obtain a release.
Materials must be recycled and verification submitted to the recycling coordinator for
approval. Please contact MarcoBurra at (973) 428-2495 with any questions on recycling
requirements. Failure to obtain the requisite Certificate of Approval may result in the
issuance of a Notice and Order to Pay Penalty in accordance with NJAC 5:23 et seq.

SELF-LUMINOUS EXIT SIGNS:
If any self-luminous exist signs are revealed, they will be disposed of in a manner
consistent with Federal Regulations 10 CFR 31.5.

ABANDONED WELLS:
Wells will be capped by certified licensed well driller, in accordance with NJAC 7:9-9-1.
A list of certified well drillers can be obtained by contacting the Bureau of Water
Allocation at (609) 984-6831.

SEPTIC TANK:
Removal of the septic tank must be verified by the Township of Hanover Board of
Health. I will coordinate this inspection with the Board of Health at (973) 428-2524.

SEWER CONNECTION:
A permit has been obtained from the Hanover Sewage Authority (973) 428-2477 for the
capping. I understand that the sewer capping will be inspected and approved PRIOR to
the demolition.

CONTIGUOUS PROPERTY OWNERS:
All contiguous property owners have been notified of the demolition date.

EXTERMINATION:
Subject structure has been treated for rodent infestation by a licensed exterminator.

UTILITIES:
All utilities have been removed and CALL BEFORE YOU DIG (1-800-272-1000) has
been notified.

I have read the above and certify under cover of my signature that all items listed above
will, or have been, complied with.

I have been advised by the Construction Official that a Certificate of Approval is to
required at the completion of a demolition project, under the Uniform Construction Code
section NJAC 5:23-2.23(j).

To obtain said certificate, the project must comply with NJAC 5:23-2.17, Demolition or
Removal of Structures. In addition, certification of compliance with Hanover Township
Ordinance No. 26-94 (copy attached), is required prior to the issuance of the Certificate
of Approval.

Failure to obtain the Certificate of Approval may result in the issuance of a Notice of
Violation and/or a Notice to Pay Penalty.
