1. Log in to Livelink (visit www.plymouth.gov.uk/srloggingin)
2. Run a workflow (visit www.plymouth.gov.uk/srworkflows)
3. Navigate to the page you want to add your links to (visit www.plymouth.gov.uk/srupdatepage) and
open the TextWizard in the right hand column (column2)
Creating a links object
4. Position your cursor at the bottom of the TextWizard under your contacts object and any related
pages.
5. Click on insert in the menu, and select text.
6. Which will bring up the text screen.

7. Click on new which will bring up the properties screen.
8. Name your links text object (visit www.plymouth.gov.uk/srdatabasestandards) and click on OK. This
will insert an empty text object into your column2 text object.
9. Double click on empty which will open your links TextWizard.

Adding the links table
10. Click on insert table on the toolbar which will bring up the insert table screen.
11. Select one of the links table styles from the style dropdown list (visit www.plymouth.gov.uk/srlinks).
12. Leave the rows and columns set to 1. Click on OK.
Adding a link to the table
13. Type the name of the first site you want to link to into the table. This is the text you want to link on
(eg BBC) not the URL (eg www.bbc.co.uk). Highlight the text.
14. Click on the insert link button on the toolbar, which will bring up the links screen.

15. Type the URL of the website you want to link to into the links screen (or visit the site you want to link
to and copy the URL from the address bar and paste into the links screen) and click on search, eg
www.bbc.co.uk.
If the link is already in the database
16. Click on the link in the results window (2. choose the destination:). Make sure it’s going to the right
page on the website you want to link to. Click on OK.
If the link isn’t in the database
17. In the results window (2. choose the destination:) it will say ‘No targets found. Refine your search or
click create to create a new link:

18. Click on create which will open the ‘new links’ screen.
19. Change the ‘target frame’ to new unnamed window. Click on apply.
To add another link to the table
20. Position your cursor in the bottom table cell and hit tab to add a new row, or right-click on the table
and choose insert and then row above or row below.
21. Follow the instructions from point number 13. Click on save and then close the links TextWizard.
22. Save your ‘column2’ text object and you should be able to see the links object on your page in
Livelink.

Reusing your links object on more than one page
23. Navigate to the page you want to add your links to and open the TextWizard in the right hand
column (column2).
24. Click on insert in the menu, and select text which will bring up the text screen.
25. Type in the name of the links object you want to search for in ‘search text’ and click on search.
26. If you don’t know the name of the links object, navigate to a page that the links are already used on,
switch to edit and hover over the links object icon which will display its name.
27. Click on your links object in the results list (content window) and click on OK.
28. Save your text object and you should be able to see the links object on your page in Livelink.
