The Amigo Brothers
This story is called, The Amigo Brothers, written by Piri Thomas. This
story is about two very close friends, Felix and Antonio, becoming a boxing
champion. Since they were young, they wanted to become a boxer and be a
champion. They practiced with each other and had a dream of becoming the
best boxer. When they grew up, they finally went to the competition and
found out they had to verse each other. They finally fought each other and the
announcer tried to announce the winner. But before that, the two friends left
the competition together.
When I was little, I went out to the swimming contest at my old school.
We started off with a lot of people and started to straighten the winner at last.
At the end, I found out that my best friend and I had to compete each other.
Everyone was watching and I didn’t know what to do. Suddenly, she came up
to me and told me to do my best. I finally won, but we were still two best
friends.
In this story, it shows the two best friends’ tight relationship and love.
Even though they both wanted to be a great boxer, that passion couldn’t win
the friendship. They didn’t care who win; all they needed was their tight
friendship. If someone is your true best friend, they won’t get any closer to
being mad because of the result.
There are more similarities than the differences between Felix and
Antonio in this book. They both are very close friends and they both wanted
to be a boxer. They both went out to the competition and they both wanted to
win. Still, they didn’t ignore their friendship at the end.
In this story, it of course symbolizes the friendship. The friendship
between Felix and Antonio was so big and tight, so that they didn’t win over
the passion of being a boxer.
