The Saddleback Inn was the site for our Feb-
ruary Mixer. As has been the case for the past several months,
the mixer barely had standing room only! Hosts Kurt Camp-
bell and Diane Hill provided well over 100 Chamber members
with outstanding food that kept coming nonstop throughout
the evening. It was a terrific event, at a wonderful location and
everyone had a marvelous time. If you haven’t been to the
Saddleback Inn lately, you must go and try their delicious food
and exceptional ambiance. Thank you Saddleback Inn for a
very, very fun February Mixer.

My name is Elyse Rankin-Gee and I graduated from Rim of
the World High School as the Valedictorian of the class of 2009.
I lived on the mountain my entire life before moving to Los An-
geles for college.
I am a sophomore studying Microbiology, Immunology and
Molecular Genetics. In the future I hope to become a professional
in the medical field as a Physician's Assistant or Medical Doctor.
Currently I am a certified EMT-Basic and volunteer as an EMT
in community events in Los Angeles County. I plan to work as an
EMT part-time during the school year and before I go to profes-
sional school.
The Mountain Bruin Scholarship has given me the opportu-
nity to study at UCLA. It allows me to study more, which helps
me to succeed in my classes. Without the scholarship I would feel
pressured to take on a full time job, instead of the part time tu-
toring job I currently hold. The scholarship serves as a constant
reminder of all the support that the community has given me,
which means so much to me. I appreciate all that the community
has contributed to my education through this scholarship.
