Main Duties & Responsibilities
Carrying out pest control casework to eradicate/control pests
Liaising effectively as necessary with officers in other business units especially in relation to work undertaken on Council land/property
Support the dog warden service when required
Essential/Desirable Criteria
A recognised qualification in pest control (BPCA/RSPH)
Full driving licence
Experience of working as a Pest Control Surveyor
Experience of working with dogs is desirable
Experience with the use of air weapons in a pest control environment

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (10-15 MAX)
• Providing advice to internal and external customers on pest control matters
• Carrying out routine visits to premises/land under contract for survey and treatment as appropriate
• Responding to service requests, surveying, assessing and treating premises/land as appropriate
• Assisting with the maintenance and control of permanent bait stations
• Assisting with the enforcing of pest control legislation as appropriate; attending court and other hearings, giving evidence as
necessary
• Liaising effectively with officers in other business units, especially in relation to work undertaken on council land/property
• Supporting the dog warden service when required including providing advice to internal and external customers on dog warden
matters
• Collecting stray dogs and returning them to their owners or, to the Council’s contracted kennels for safe storage
• Responding to dog fouling incidents and fixing signs/notices in public places
• Carrying out enforcement work relating to the Control of Dogs including the provisions of the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996
