Checklist for backing up your computer manually

Files and Preferences
I have backed up all my files, including Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PDFs, email attachments, and
all other files I have created or modified myself.
Files saved to my Desktop.
Files saved to my Documents/My Documents folder or elsewhere on my computer.
I have a backed up any custom dictionaries, macros, templates, Adobe CS settings, or other

If I sync my computer with a mobile device (e.g. smartphone, iPad, etc.), I have synced my device and
made a copy of the backup.
If my computer is being reimaged or I’m receiving a new computer, I have located installers for

If I have other special software, fonts, and images, I have the original discs to reinstall them, or know
where to find the installer online.
I have the supplemental software and drivers needed for any scanners and local printers.
