All items should be packed in large Zip Lock Bags. They are water proof and see through. PUT YOUR NAME ON EVERYTHING! LAYERING: Layering means wearing numerous items of thinner clothing rather than one heavy item. Layering traps more air, keeping you warmer. Layering also allows you to adjust your clothing to the weather.

FABRICS: Some simple rules to follow: 1) The only cotton you should have are your t-shirts and sweats. Your long underwear must be synthetic, your jacket must be fleece, your rain gear must be water proof, your windbreaker must be synthetic, and your socks must be wool or synthetic. FOOTWEAR: CANOEING: You must have two pair of shoes that tie on your feet. One pair is a wet pair and one pair is a dry pair for in camp. NO CROCS, BERKS, KEENS etc. You will be carrying heavy loads over rough trails, proper footwear is very important. RAIN GEAR: A full rain suit (jacket and bottoms) is required. NO PONCHOS, NO CLEAR RAIN SUITS. Good raingear will make for a much better trip. Staying dry in good. SLEEPING BAG: Your sleeping bag should be rated to 20 degrees and synthetic. If you are a skilled backcountry traveler, down is okay. NO COTTON SLEEPING BAGS! Your sleeping bag needs to be in a nylon stuff sack that is lined with a garbage bag to ensure water proofness. SLEEPING PAD: An ensolite pad or thermarest will help ensure a better nights sleep by keeping the ground cold away from your body. The camp has pads if you don't already have one.
