 Subacute Thyroiditis Elevated ESR & elevated thyroglobulin + diffuse firm goiter w/ pain to palpation

 Silent thyroiditis Elevated ESR & thyroglobulin + diffuse firm goiter w/o neck pain



 Toxic Multinodules Elevated thyroglobulin + multiple thyroid nodules

 Toxic Thyroid Nodule Elevated thyroglobulin + “a single thyroid nodule is palpated” w/o a diffuse

goiter

 Graves disease Elevated thyroglobulin + soft diffuse goiter, thyroid bruit, exopthalamus

 Hashitoxicosis Elevated thyroglobulin + diffuse firm goiter w/ a thyroid that is painful to palpation;

thyroid bruit and can have either a palpable single nodule/multiple nodules look just like Graves (can

have exopthalmous, shakiness, anxiety, etc)



 Central disease Elevated thyroglobulin and ELEVATED TSH!!!!! diffuse firm goiter



 Psychiatric disease Normal thyroid!!!! Shaky; hyperkinetic w/o Elevated thyroglobulin

 Iodine loading Normal thyroid!!!! w/ Elevated thyroglobulin; 1-4 wks
