Class Schedule November -December, 2011

Registration is fast and easy and can be completed over the phone. Registration and pre-payment are required to save

your spot in the class. If you need to withdraw from a class, please give us 24 hours notice and we will place you in

another class or issue you a refund or credit. We will also phone you the day before class to remind you.



Classes will run if there are two or more people enrolled. If there is only one person enrolled, we will offer it as a private

lesson at private lesson rates. If you do not wish to take a private lesson, we will issue you a credit or refund. You will

need to purchase materials for most classes…available at The Bead Gallery at a 15% discount to class participants.

Please plan on having all your materials ready ahead of time so that the class can begin right on time.

classes are suitable for any level of beading expertise, including beginner. #2 classes are for those with some

experience. Ask us if you have questions about the difficulty of a class.





WIRE CLASSES - Private Classes Available: $20/Hour

#1 – Woven Treasure Cage Pendant Instructor: Lolo $25 – Materials Extra

Are you looking for a new way to display that special stone, shell, feather or other keepsake? Why not encase it in a lovely woven wire cage? This

beginning class is a great way to learn basic wire wrapping skills. Be sure to bring a treasure to wrap!

#1 – Caged Bead Bracelet Instructor: Lolo $25 Plus Materials

This easy wire wrapping technique can be used to embellish any round bead or make an empty cage for a totally different look. You will also learn how

to make a cage to encase an undrilled treasure, such as a shell or piece of sea glass.

#1 – Fun With Earwires Instructor: Aurora $25 - Materials Extra

Learn how to make your own classic earwires as well as how to make a pair of modern contoured earwires that can be embellished simply or

dramatically. You will make four (4) pairs of earrings in all.

#1 - Hammered Wire Components Instructor: Lolo $25 – Materials Extra

These wire shapes can be linked together to create a chain or they can be used as a base for dangling beads to make earrings. We will make five or

more component designs, as time permits. This is a great class to take if you want to learn the basics of shaping and hardening wire. You will also

learn how to create a gallery wrap and make a pair of simple ear wires.

#1 – Basic Earrings Instructor: Aurora $35 - Materials Included

Learn the basics of earring construction and design. You will make 3 pairs of earrings while learning how to create a perfect gallery wrap, how to

dangle a bead from a chain and how to attach a top-drilled (briolette) bead.

#1 –Forged Hoops Instructor: Faith $25 - Materials Extra

If shaping and hammering metal sounds like fun, this is the class for you. Learn now to turn wire into fashionable hoop earrings. Faith has five

variations on the classic hoop earring to inspire you. This class is suitable for beginners.

#1 –***New Class*** Make Your Own Toggle, Cord Crimps, and Hook-Eye Clasp Instructor: Lolo $25 – Materials Extra

First, learn how to make two kinds of clasps out of heavy gauge wire (sturdy toggle and hook/eye). Next, learn to make your own wire cord crimps (to

finish leather cord.) Finally, learn to finish jewelry by tying an adjustable slip knot.

#1 – Beaded Hoop Earrings Instructor: Faith $25 - Materials Extra

First, learn how to make a pair of wire hoop earrings of any size. Then, embellish them with wire and beads to create your perfect pair of hoops. This

class teaches you how to shape and harden wire as well as how to neatly wrap the wire between each bead, techniques that can be used on a variety

of jewelry pieces.

#1 – Basic Wire Rings Instructor: Joy $25 - Materials Extra

These rings are so easy and fun, you’ll want to make a couple for each of your friends. Combine 1 – 3 beads with wire to create endless variations.

You will make a minimum of 3 rings in class.

BEADING CLASSES - Private Classes Available: $20/hour

#1 – Pearl Knotting - (Traditional Pearl Knotting on Silk) Instructor: Aurora $35 - Materials Extra

Create a traditionally knotted pearl bracelet on silk, tying a knot between each pearl and finishing by attaching a clasp using French wire. Then learn

how to make a “floating pearl” necklace with knotted pearls and exposed silk thread, finishing with bead tips to attach a clasp.

#1 – Lacy Loops Bracelet Instructor: Brittany $25 - Materials Extra

This delicate bracelet combines bead weaving techniques as well as stringing methods to make a feminine accessory you’ll want to wear everywhere.

This bracelet goes together easily and can be finished in two hours. This class is perfect for beginning beaders.

#1 – Basic Stringing Instructor: Becky $35 - Materials Included

Learn basic stringing and finishing techniques while making both a necklace and a bracelet. There are a number of tips and methods you need to know

in order to help you create jewelry designs that are, not only comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, but also well and safely made. You will learn about

different stringing materials, fitting techniques as well as two (2) different methods for securing crimps.

#1 – Basic Braiding and Knotting Techniques Instructor: Autumn $25 – Materials Extra

Create beautiful bohemian jewelry when you learn to braid and tie macramé knots on leather, cotton, satin and hemp cord. Learn basic skills or

improve your techniques in this fun class.

#1 – ****New Class**** Leather Wrap Bracelet Instructor: Lolo $25 – Materials Extra

Leather and beads combine to make a stylish wrap bracelet (in the mode of designer Chan Luu) in this fun class.

Thu 12-01-11 6:30 – 8:30 pm.





METAL AND STONE CLASSES - Private Classes Available: $50/Hour

#1 – Freeform Hammered Chain Bracelet Instructor: Angela $60 - Materials Extra Four (4) students maximum.

Learn the craft of silver soldering when you make your own chain bracelet. Begin by bending sterling wire into freeform links, and then solder them

together to make a modern chain. End by creating your own toggle clasp. This class is suitable for beginners.

Mon 11-28-11 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.





#1 – Soldered Hammered Ring Instructor: Angela $50 - Materials Extra Four (4) students maximum.

In just two hours, you will learn to saw, bend, file, solder, anneal, pickle, and polish metal as you create a beautiful sterling silver ring. If, after taking

the class, you find out that you love metalsmithing, you can then sign up for the cabochon setting class and further embellish your ring. This class is

suitable for beginners.

#1 – **New Class ** - Free Form Hammered Pendant OR Hammered Copper Concave Earrings $50 - Materials Extra Instructor: Angela

Your choice! Learn how to cut, file, polish, form, hammer and solder sterling silver and/or copper as you fabricate an elegant pendant or pair of copper

earrings.

#1 – Drilling a Stone/Tapping a Stone & Attaching a Bail Instructor: Jesse $30 - Materials. Extra

Learn how to use a drill to make a bead out of a stone (or create a bigger hole in an existing bead.) Learn to “tap” (drill part way into) a stone and

attach a bail using jeweler’s epoxy. If time permits, students will be able to tap their own stones. Students usually drill at least two stones.

classes at our little sister store, The Bead Gallery 2, located at 114 State Street

in Howell, MI. All beading and wire classes are available to be scheduled at
