Tub Activity #1: count, compare and order numbers to 20.

Put different number cards in the tub. You can make these yourself. Tell the
students that they need to pick a number card and count that many counters. They
continue until they have all the cards layed out in the right order. Last, read the
number line they created. Or, you can always put a file folder game in the tub that
already has instructions and the playing pieces. When you check their work, pick
two numbers and ask them which number is bigger or smaller; greater or less etc.
Tub Activity #2: count, compare and order numbers to 50.

students that they need to pick a number card and build it with base 10 blocks. They

Give the students a 100 chart as a reference and several different numbers( an even#
of cards). Have the students practice building the number with base 10 blocks, if
they still need this type of practice. Tell the students to cover the number on their
100 chart and practice reading the numbers. Next, let the students choose 2
numbers at a time and put a greater or less than sign between them. Check their
work.
