Goals:
9.2 Identify and compare numbers in the real number system
9.2 Solve equations by finding square roots
Mrs. M’s Big Questions: Why is any number to the power of 0 equal to 1?
How can you use what you know about squares and square roots to solve
equations?
Why is it important to be able to identify and classify numbers in the real
number system?
A suggestion: Make the graphic organizer to remind yourself about rational,
irrational, whole numbers, real numbers, integers…
A challenge: See if you can create a way to help yourself an others remember how to
classify numbers – post your helpful hints in edmodo for others!!
If whole numbers, rational numbers, and irrational numbers are part of the real number
system, what is the opposite of a real number? Examples?
Tasks:
Choose Option 1, 2, 3, or 4.
Are there any technologies available that you can use to
help you be able to classify these numbers?
Post your questions to edmodo, and respond to the
questions of others if you are able to offer suggestions or
help!
Post your notes for others to view and/or critique.
Work on your Smartie Family problem, research
question, or career research!
