Protective Pads
Why don't people wear protective equipment when going in the car?
We should be able to avoid all deadly accidents. Would it be smart to wear a helmet, shoulder pads, knee pads,
and chest plates to avoid getting killed in a car crash?
The problem with wearing helmets in a car is head maneuverability. Can't turn your head enough to check blind
spots. Easier to do on a motorcycle, but not in a car. On a race track, all cars are moving in the same direction at
about the same speed with the same intentions in mind. There's only one entrance and one exit - no driveways,
no pedestrians, no idiots on the race track. Not so in day-to-day driving.
Many people have a difficult time wanting to put on their seat belts. They surely won't want to put on knee pads,
chest plates, shoulder pads, nor a 5-point seat harness (like that on aircraft).
