Fridays) from 8:30-9:24 and will be able to perform April 24-25 from 6:00-8:30pm at Leon High School.
In addition, I am aware that there is a $10.00 participation fee that must be paid ONLY if I am cast in the
show. This fee defrays the cost of my costume.

Show Description:
This year’s show is “Into the Woods Jr.” It is a condensed version of Act I from “Into the Woods” by
Steven Sondheim. The play is about fairy tale characters who travel into a forest to achieve their wishes
and gather ingredients to create a magic potion for a witch so she will lift a curse. This is a much smaller
cast than in years past - there are 11 lead roles and 7 supporting cast members. All performers must be
fantastic actors, but not all roles need to be able to sing. You can find substantial information about the
show online. Check out You Tube, Google, or mtishows.com in particular.

To Audition:
You will need to provide Ms. Meis with a blank CD-rom or pay $1.00 for an audition CD. Please
prepare the music on the CD. Girls will be expected to sing all of “It Takes Two,” (tracks 3 and 8) and
parts of “I Know Things Now” (tracks 1 and 6), and “On the Steps of the Palace” (track 2 and 7). Boys
need to learn all of “It Takes Two” (tracks 3 and 8), and parts of “Giants in the Sky” (track 4 and 9), and
“Agony” (track 5 and 10). See the CD and lyric sheet for details. Use the songs with lyrics to help you
prepare, but you will sing to tracks 6-10 for the actual audition.
There will also be a cold reading. A cold reading is a short, unprepared scene from the script. You do
not need to learn or practice anything for this part of the audition. There will be no dance audition.
The callback audition will be students who I wish to see again for one reason or another. Not everyone
who auditions will receive a callback, but you do not have to have a callback to be cast.
I plan to post the final cast list on Wednesday, December 7th on the Drama room door. It will also be
available on my website.
