Create a fax user in Shoretel for each port on the Mediatrix unit. The 1102 has two fax ports to be
configured.
The user has to be setup with Extension and Mailbox(This will be changed to Extension only at the
end of the config.)
Set the caller Id to the External number of the Fax Machine EG: +31 416711422
Tick "DID" and fill in the proper number EG: +31 416711422 the last four digits are the extension
number. Unless this is set the Fax Machine will not receive External calls.
Set the User Group to "Executivies" This will allow the fax machine to make External calls
Change Fax Support to user - NO Redirect
Scroll down to SIP Password and set a new SIP password. Uptick "Must Change On Next Login"
Save Your User and Create a second user for the Second Fax Port
Unit Manager Network from https://support.mediatrix.com/ is used to configure the Fax Device.
This program is installed on the ShoreTel Server and the install files are on e:\Unit Manager Network
Goto Unit Manager Network under programs and launch "Unit Manager Network.
There is no user login needed for unit Manager. Just click ok
Right Click unit Manager on the right and select "AutoDetect"
Fill in the ip address rang you want it to scan(Make sure the Fax Device is plugged into the network
and is powered up.) This can be slow, if you look up the mac address on the dhcp server, then you
can put in the exact ip address to search for.
Once the Fax device is found select it and hit ok
Expand the tress on the left right click on SIP and select edit.
Untick use DHCP and Fill in 10.241.0.25 for the Sip Registrar and SIP Proxy.
Select the first port and click on Authentication and Fill in "ShoreTel" for Realm
For username enter the username for the first user you created.
For Password enter the SIP password for that user.
Click ok and repeat for the second port with the second user you created
Select the first port and click on "Set Target Units" and select the Fax Device on the right and press
the arrow in the middle to move it across to the left
Click Ok on the active window and then repeat for the second port.
Once back to the main Unit Manager Client window click on Sip and you will see the two ports are
now registered.
Right Click on port and choose edit. Change the country to what-ever you want and change T38
from enabled to disabled on both ports.
Reboot the unit by unplugging and plugging in the unit. Config changes only take effect when the
unit reboots.
Go back into Shoretel Director and change the two fax users to have "Extension Only" under License
type.
Both Ports on the fax machine are ready for use.
