Coca-Cola Scholarship- Students planning on attending a two or four-year college should check
out the Coca-Cola Scholarship. You must carry a minimum 3.00 GPA at the end of your junior
year of high school. They also have a scholarship for students that are first in their family to
attend a four-year college. There is not a list of participating colleges available, please talk to

Ron Brown Scholarship- The Ron Brown Scholar Program seeks to identify African-American
high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel
academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in community service activities
and demonstrate financial need. The applicant must be a US citizen or hold a permanent resident
visa card.

Gates Millennium Scholarship- This scholarship is a lengthy application and if you are
interested it is suggested that it be completed soon. The deadline is in January, but don’t delay.
At least look at it now. Students must be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian
Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American. You must also have a cumulative high school
GPA of 3.3 on an unweighted 4.0 scale.

The AXA Achievement Scholarship – Are you an AXA achiever? In order to qualify, you must
demonstrate ambition and drive, determination to set goals, respect for self, family and

Ayn Rand – There is an essay contest for ninth and tenth graders and a separate contest for
eleventh and twelfth graders. The essays are to be responses to the Ayn Rand’s novelette and

The National Co-Op Scholarship Program – The National Co-Op Scholarship Program is
looking for minority students interested in the areas of math, science, engineering and
technology. Students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale. They
must complete the application and include a one page typed essay describing why he or she has
chosen to pursue a college cooperative program. Students must also be accepted for the 2011-
2012 academic year at one or more of the eleven NCCE Partner Colleges and Universities listed:
Antioch College, Drexel University, Johnson & Wales University, Kettering University, C.W. Post
Campus of Long Island University, Northeastern University, Pace University, Rochester Institute

Hispanic Scholarship Fund – The National Commission for Cooperative Education is proud to
assist and promote the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) – the nation’s leading organization
supporting Hispanic students in pursuit of higher education. HSF scholarship opportunities are

plan to transfer to a four-year college or university, currently enrolled college students and

Pediatric Nurse- If you have a 3.0 and are interested in being a pediatric nurse you may want to
consider this scholarship. The catch is that you have to work in Atlanta for at least 18 months
after graduation. Please review it carefully. There is also another scholarship for students that
are bilingual and want to study pediatrics. The bilingual scholarship gives you more money, so
you have to be in Atlanta for one year for every year you receive the scholarship after graduation.

Intel Science Talent Search & Awards- This scholarship is one of America’s most prestigious

Horatio Alger Scholarship – the Horatio Alger Association seeks to assist students who have
demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial
need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to
contribute to society. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

- grade point average of 2.0/4.0 scale
- involvement in community and extra curricular activities

Wendy’s High School Heisman award- The award honors both male and female high school
