Specific details will be provided beforehand. Algebra I, part 1 • Quad-ruled composition book (Staples item #858198) • Scientific calculator (the TI-30X IIS, Staples item #382647 is a good choice) Physical Education • Gym shoes appropriate for running • Shorts/ sweatpants • Shirt/sweatshirts • Socks • Water bottle (labeled with your name in permanent marker) Drama • 1 pocket folder (3-ring) *Regarding Calculators: Any scientific calculator you may already have is sufficient for Math-7 and Algebra-1. There is no need to purchase anything new. Should you be purchasing a calculator, however, here are some suggestions: the TI-83 Plus graphing calculator is used extensively in Upper School math courses. If you are comfortable with the cost of a long-term investment, and your student with the responsibility, the TI-83+ is the calculator to buy. (Also available used through Amazon and Ebay.) If such is not the right choice for you now, any solar scientific calculator (like the TI-30X IIS, Staples item #382647) is a good choice. Please, though, avoid those with "MultiView" displays. (They are a bit too smart in a way that can be counterproductive.) Please note that if you are shopping at Staples or Office Depot, you can mention Tandem Friends School and the school will receive a portion of the sale.
