SWELTEC QSA - visits to Partnership Schools Check-list for PCM Name School Email Position in ITT school partners No of yrs as No of Date of PCM trainees QSA Visit Please comment on the following aspects of your involvement at the school. ( I would be grateful for a copy of your Professional development programme, if you have one in place and for your permission to share it with other schools.) The school has: 1. appointed a suitably experienced member of staff to act as PCM, who has time and resources to undertake the role 2. a full-day Programme for each day of the Pre-Block experience in Autumn and Spring of induction in place for all trainees in both Autumn and Spring 3. managed a school-based PD training programme that complies with the SWELTEC requirements listed in the Handbook of Guidance.  delivered weekly/fortnightly/or as described below? 4. drawn up an individual Training Plan for each trainee 5. observed trainees teaching on a regular basis and provided at least one formal written report each week The PCM has: 1. Attended SWELTEC annual PCM training Conference Never once annually If attended please say what was valuable and what could make it more useful to you. 2. coordinated the negotiation of trainee placement offers with SWELTEC office 3. provided initial in-school training for new mentors  using the SWELTEC documents for Training New Mentors (provided on the SWELTEC website) 4. provided on-going in-school training for all mentors 5. facilitated bi-annual mentor attendance at SWELTEC Subject Partnership Development sessions 6. facilitated SWELTEC mentor Certification Number with:- Stage 1 -pending Stage 2 -pending not interested 7. facilitated development of future mentors using SWELTEC Certification 8. ensured that all trainees receive a regular weekly Training meeting with their subject mentor that complies with the identified Training Plan 9. overseen the production of timetables by mentors that meet the training needs of the trainee 10. made information on the school and its pupils available to trainees as appropriate 11. encouraged and facilitated the active involvement of trainees in all aspects of school life including extra-curricular opportunities 12. collected observation flimsies for all trainees weekly and responded to perceived needs as appropriate for both trainees and observers 13. observed all trainees teaching only with C4C issues none 14. participated in joint observation of trainees for quality assurance and on-going training of observers With mentor class teacher HEI Tutor other none 15. facilitated joint observations between other mentors or trainers 16. managed any cause for concern issues with :trainee mentor class teacher HEI no issues 17. reviewed and signed trainee Profiles at end of each school placement 18. signed external (SWELTEC) trainee evaluation of school experience and liaised with mentor and HEI as appropriate 19.
