Supply List for 7th Grade
Welcome to 7th grade! Here is your suggested supply list. You will NOT have a desk in the classroom in which to store a lot of stuff, but rather a small cubby to store your backpack/lunch for the day. The 7th grade teacher will be explicitly teaching binder and organization skills during the first weeks of school, so please DON’T fill your binder or pouch with ANY items prior to school starting – and do not label your separator tabs; simply bring your backpack filled with the following loose supplies: BINDERS: Two 1 inch binders - each with a set of five separators. Not a 2-inch binder. FOLDERS: 10 three holed tag board folders PENCIL POUCH: Three holed punched LINED PAPER: An on-going supply will be needed for home and school. Begin with several packs of college (or narrow) rule binder paper – loose and three hole punched. GRAPH PAPER: 1/4 inch grid graph paper (4 squares to the inch), three hole punched. Two hundred sheets if you are taking Algebra or Pre-Algebra. In addition, an ongoing supply of loose graph paper will be needed both at home and school. GRAPH PAPER SPIRAL NOTEBOOK: For math homework to be kept in over the course of the year. If you can’t find one, the loose graph paper will do. SPIRAL NOTEBOOK: Two full size spiral notebook – three hole punched and college rule. COMPOSITON NOTEBOOK: A bound notebook with lined paper for daily journal writing. INDEX CARDS: 2 pack of 3x5 or 4x6 cards for research projects. CALCULATOR: Texas Instruments TI 30XIIS or TI34II Solar Scientific calculator, or a Casio version. It needs to be a scientific calculator and will last until you need a graphing calculator in high school. Save the directions. PENCILS and ERASERS: Lots. A steady supply of 5-7 at school and at home will be needed at all times. PENS – One or more packs of blue or black pens as well as a pack of red ball point pens. HI- LITER PENS – One pack of hi liters (thin preferred). At least green, blue, pink, and yellow required. DICTIONARY: To keep at HOME. We recommend the paperback American Heritage Dictionary. It needs to have the word origins. Optional (but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED): Pencil Sharpener – and Water Bottle – Small, refillable, leak-proof ITEMS YOU MAY WANT TO DONATE TO CLASSROOM: Packs of paper (lined and/or graph) Box of Kleenex #2 pencils Folders –three hole tag board folders Index Cards Cap erasers
$5. This will be used to buy scissors, 3 dry erase pens, and a ruler all which will be kept at school. We can get these in bulk. To buy these on your own you would need to spend substantially more than $5.
