Alot of detail Less detail
The graph shows that the overall percentage of the audience prefers smaller amounts of detail, but like the
main details to be included in the piece. With 12 people preferring reduced depth, and 8 people preferring
more detail. This shows that in my magazine there should be a genuine mix of the two, with some interviews
and features showing more detail, and some with reduced depth and just cover major details.
Question two:
Please rank these topics in order, on what you prefer to read in a music magazine.
In this section I decided to average out all the votes, and order the answers in which that genre was most
th
selected. So if reviews on technology were mostly ranked 4 best that where I will put it in the final results.
The results found were as follows:
1. Top 40
2. Latest gossip
3. Behind the scenes
4. New music
5. Fashion
6. Gigs
7. Reviews
This shows that in my magazine articles should be based on the top 4 options, and only very a few sections
featuring those topics ranked 5-7. Since the research isn’t representative, alienating a certain topic and
deciding not to include it, some members of the target audience may choose to retract there interest if latest
reviews isn’t included.
Question 3
What style of music do you prefer?

As you can see here, the most popular style of music in my recent questionnaire was pop, with 18 votes. Each
individual had the opportunity to vote for two music styles out of the possible six variations. This gave up to
forty votes; with the maximum any style could receive being twenty. The music style with the lowest votes was
dub step with two votes, this shows only two people like this style of music, so featuring it consistently in the
magazine is a waste of time and money, with the target audience potentially finding a dislike to the magazine
since it is featuring a music style they possibly don’t like. However this cannot be conclusive since only two
votes were offered and many people may have been spoilt for choice when it came to their second choice. But
with the shear amount of votes, pop is the favourite so will be features, while dub step and classical fail to
make the cut, since only a small percentage of the market actually prefer it.
Question four:
Would you take part in a competition of there was one available?

yes no
As the result show, a large majority of people say, that if there was a competition available they will be willing
to take part. This shows that if the magazine was to feature a competition in the magazine, additional revenue
when the magazine is released. So in my magazine, I will feature a competition advertisement in my contents
page.
