Fill your winter with fun and fitness and earn the Snow
Sports Merit Badge, Snow Ski and Board Sports Belt Loop
or Sports Pin for either Downhill Skiing or Snowboarding. Scouts can spend a
day or evening at Thunder Ridge Ski Area in Patterson, New York and experience
the thrills and chills of skiing or snowboarding.
Before or after the season, complete all the off-snow requirements including
winter sports safety, how to get ready for the slopes, responsibility code, trail
marking, lift safety, types of equipment, equipment and binding release and
maintenance. Then spend a day on the slopes learning the basics or improving
your snowsports skills with our certified Ski and Snowboard instructors.
Several lessons may be required to achieve the level of proficiency in the
standards set forth by the Boy Scouts of America.

On-snow sessions on the slopes of Thunder Ridge will be offered at any
regularly scheduled lesson time by reservation.
Your day will include a 75-minute ski or snowboard lesson, rental equipment (if
needed), lift ticket for the day, and hot chocolate (of course). Dress warmly! Bring a
bag lunch or dinner or purchase your meal in our cafeteria.
Cost per Scout: $50 without rental
$75 with rental
