1. PARTICIPATION:
All hospitals who conduct bariatric surgery for weightloss on patients aged 16 years or over
2. TASK (IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ):
Provide a list of all patients aged 16 years or over who received bariatric surgery (see OPCS codes) for weight loss anytime between 1st June
2010 and 31st August 2010 inclusive. Please filter for patients with an ICD10 code for obesity (E66)
Include details of HDU and ITU admissions.
Include details of any readmissions to hospital up until 6 months post surgery
3. DEFINITIONS:
HDU is Level 2 care and ICU/ITU is Level 3 care.
4. PASSWORD PROTECTION:
1. Open spreadsheet.
2. Single click on ‘File’ button.
3. Single click on ‘Save As’ in the drop down menu.
4. Single click on ‘Tools’ button in the top right corner of the pop up box.
5. Single click on ‘General Options’ in the drop down menu.
6. Type your chosen password in the ‘Password to Open’ text box.
7. Single click on ‘Ok’ button.
8. A box should pop up titled ‘Confirm Password’. Type your chosen password in the text box.
9. Single click on ‘Ok’ button.
10. The pop up box should disappear, leaving the ‘Save As’ box. Type file name in the text box (bariatric surgery - your hospital name).
11. Single click ‘Save’ button.
The file should now be password protected. To test this, close the file, then attempt to re-open it. Microsoft Excel should open up, but no
data/spreadsheet should appear. Instead you should be prompted for a password, and if you enter the wrong password, or click cancel, the
spreadsheet should not open.
