Directions for Viewing Iowa Laws
Viewing Iowa Administrative Code
First, click the link to the Iowa Administrative Code near the top of the page. This
will take you to the Iowa Administrative Code homepage. Next click either the
advanced Search or PDF link at the top of the page.
Advanced Search Directions
Clicking this option will allow you to search the Iowa Administrative code. To
search on a topic, type in the topic at the top of the page and click the search
button. To scroll through the result set, click ▼button at the bottom of the result
set.
On the right side of the screen there is a menu. To view Iowa Administrative
Code Chapters, first expand the Iowa Administrative Rules by clicking the + in
front of the menu item. Next expand the Iowa Administrative Code line. This will
provide a listing of all the agencies with Iowa Administrative Code Chapters.
Click the Credit Union or Insurance Division. Then a listing of the different
Chapters for the selected agency will appear. Then click on the section you
would like to view. The left part of the screen will display the section chosen.
PDF Directions
First select the appropriate agency rules you would like to view. Next you can
select to view a specific chapter or all chapters. To select all chapters click View
under the PDF heading. Clicking View under the chapter heading will provide a
listing of all the chapters governed by the selected agency. Click the View link to
view a specific chapter.

Viewing Code of Iowa
Select the Chapter and Section you wish to review from the listing given on the
web page. It is recommended you write down the Chapter and Section for
reference purposes. Once you know the chapter and section you want to view,
click the 2007 Iowa Code link on the legislature page. Type the chapter number
followed by a period then the section number. Then click the submit button to
view the regulation. For Example, 533.101 would bring up Chapter 533 Section
101.
The Iowa Code is now searchable as well. To search the Iowa Code, click the
Iowa Code Advanced Search link. You will come to a screen like the following.
Type in the search criteria and click search. Then click the section you would like
to view. This search will also bring up any matches within the Iowa
Administrative Code as well as the Iowa Code.

HELPFUL HINT: When the listing for your query appears, many sections may be
listed which do not apply to credit unions. Most of the time, the sections that will
apply to credit unions will include, but not be limited to, sections beginning with
189, 191, 527, 533, 535, 536C, 537, and 554.
