Do you have expertise on how technology can be used to create, enhance, or manage learning, training,

or education initiatives? Then we encourage you to submit a presentation proposal for the 2010

Chicago eLearning & Technology Showcase. More than 150 professionals attend this day-long event,

which sold out the previous two years.

Topics of Interest

All presentations should address the effective use of eLearning technologies.

Sample topics:

• Advice and “how to” information about selecting, implementing, or utilizing eLearning

development or delivery tools (e.g., course development/authoring tools, LCMSs, LMSs,

learning portals, Webinar platforms)

• Case studies of how a learning technology solved a training problem

• Reviews, selection, or customization of off-the-shelf eLearning content

• Interactive technologies for eLearning (e.g., virtual learning environments, social

applications, Web 2.0 technologies, simulations, games)

• Mobile learning applications

• Program management strategies for eLearning (e.g., planning, budgeting, ROI calculation,

tracking, evaluation) and related software

• Rapid and traditional eLearning development processes

Topics that will not be considered:

• Strategies/solutions that are not related to eLearning and supporting technology

• Human Performance Technology, documentation, and classroom-based learning solutions that

do not highlight the use of technology to solve a problem

Presentation Guidelines

• Sessions will last 50 minutes, including time for questions.

• Preference will be given to presentations that

o Show real-use cases of how eLearning technologies were used to reach business objectives

o Are creative, interactive and include audience participation and discussion

• Target audience includes independent contractors and employees of corporations, non-profits,

and academic institutions who fill roles such as instructional designers and developers, trainers,

technical writers, training directors, content managers, and new media developers.

Proposal Deadline

Submit the proposal found on pages 3 to 5 by Friday, May 28.

More Information

One of the key purposes for this event is to provide a time and a space for the eLearning community

in the Chicago area to learn more about each other’s work. Therefore, preference will be given to

Chicago-area presenters (and those who are within driving distance from Chicago) who submit relevant

speaking proposals, before selecting speakers from other areas of the country.

As a speaker, you will pay no costs or registration fees and can attend all other sessions and networking

events for free. Only one free admission will be available per session. Co-presenters will pay a

discounted registration fee. If you have any questions, contact Apryl Cox Jackson at

speakers@chicagoelearningshowcase.com.
