NOTICE OF ELECTION
Parliamentary Election
for
NORTH NORFOLK
1. An Election is to be held of One Member of Parliament for North Norfolk.
2. Forms of nomination for this Election may be obtained at North Norfolk District Council, Council Offices,
Holt Road, Cromer, Norfolk NR27 9EN from the Acting Returning Officer who will, at the request of an
elector for any electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature.
3. Nomination papers must be delivered by the candidate, or his proposer or seconder, or his election
agent (if the agent’s name and address have been given to the Acting Returning Officer or are given to
him when the nomination paper is delivered), to the Acting Returning Officer, at the offices of North
Norfolk District Council, Council Offices, Holt Road, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 9EN on any day after the

date of this notice between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm but no later than 4pm on Tuesday 20 April
2010.
4. The required deposit may be made either by the deposit of any legal tender, or by means of a banker’s
draft.
5. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 6th May 2010. (Polling hours 7 am to 10
pm).
6. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes at this election must reach the Electoral
Registration Officer at ‘The Annexe’ North Norfolk District Council, Council Offices, Holt Road, Cromer,
Norfolk, NR27 9EN by 5 pm on Tuesday, 20th April 2010.
7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at ‘The
Annexe’ North Norfolk District Council, Council Offices, Holt Road, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 9EN by 5 pm
on Tuesday, 27th April 2010.
8. Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on grounds of physical incapacity, where that
physical incapacity occurred after 5 pm on Tuesday, 27th April 2010, must reach the Electoral
Registration Officer at ‘The Annexe’ North Norfolk District Council, Council Offices, Holt Road, Cromer,
Norfolk, NR27 9EN by 5 pm on Thursday, 6th May 2010.

9. The postal votes will be despatched around Friday 23 April (to non-UK addresses) and Monday 26
April (to UK addresses).
