community has a rich knowledge resource of over 160 Consolidated Replies apart from other knowledge
products. We have the privilege to make available all these knowledge products for and from the community
members. In an effort to invite new membership to diversify our learning and bring in fresh perspective, we
request you to invite your colleagues and encourage them to be part of the MCH Community and get engaged
in knowledge sharing.

Planning Commission of India is in the process of preparing the Approach paper to the Twelfth Five Year Plan.
They have invited suggestions from the civil society and we request all of you to engage in the process based
on your vast experience in the field.

We are also sharing the Final Report of the Round Table on Menstrual Hygiene and Use of Sanitary
Napkins among Adolescent Girls – Way Forward. Available at (PDF, Size: 395 KB). We hope you find
it useful. We look forward to hear from you.

Coming to the discussion on community, last month we had a discussion on Reducing Failure Rate in Female
Sterilisation Operations. We thank all the contributors for their insightful and detailed responses. The
community initiated another discussion with Disaster Management Community on Equipping Community to
reduce Vulnerability of Mothers and Children During Emergencies. We haven’t received much response on this
query. We request members to take out time and respond to this query in context of maternal and child health.

Best Wishes for the festive season,
