“Introduction to Criminal Environmental Investigations" Scholarships*
*Before applying for a scholarship, obtain your own agency’s approval to travel out of state The Western States Project (WSP) is offering scholarships to the “Introduction to Criminal Environmental Investigations” class. The funding for scholarships is from Supplemental Environmental Projects (SEPs) directed to the WSP for use in enforcement training. These are full scholarships that will cover registration, travel costs and reimbursement for per diem. You must apply to Cal/EPA by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday September 10, 2009. Late applications will not be accepted. This training is appropriate for regulators, investigators, prosecutors and in house counsel. Scholarships are limited to state and local government employees only. This course fulfills the prerequisite requirement to attend the Advanced Criminal Investigation training (often referred to as “FLETC” as it is sometimes given at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center). In order to apply for a scholarship you must have approval from your supervisor to attend this training. If you receive a scholarship, you must attend also all sessions of the training to be reimbursed. Flights and hotel will be directly billed to the WSP but reimbursement for other costs may take up to 6 weeks after submission of completed reimbursement forms. Reimbursement is paid in accordance with WSP travel rules. Please do not apply unless you are sure you can attend, as substitutions will not be allowed and flight reservations are often nonrefundable. This course need only be taken once; anyone who has previously taken this course may not receive a scholarship.
