Steps to Winning Mega Millions
EACH GAME COSTS $1
Visit any of the nearly 16,000 New York Lottery retailers throughout New
York State and pick up a Mega Millions playcard.
EACH PLAYCARD HAS FIVE GAME PANELS
Using a blue or black pen or pencil, fill in your choice of five numbers from
1 to 56 in the upper (pink shaded) section of a game panel and select one
MEGA BALL number from 1 to 46 in the lower (white) section of the same
game panel for each game you want to play. You can save time by
choosing Quick Pick and letting the computer randomly select numbers for
you.
DO NOT TRY TO ERASE
If you make a mistake, mark the VOID box for that game and move to the
next game.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO CHOOSE CASH OR ANNUITY AT THE TIME OF
PURCHASE
You do not need to choose Cash or Annuity at the time of purchase. You
can choose at the time of the prize claim or within sixty (60) days after you
are entitled to the prize.
YOU CAN PLAY THE SAME NUMBERS FOR MORE THAN ONE DRAW
Use the MULTI DRAWS column to select up to 26 consecutive draws. The
cost of each game played is $1.
TURN IN YOUR PLAYCARD
Turn in your playcard to the retailer, and receive a separate ticket for each
playcard processed.
MEGA MILLIONS TICKETS CAN NOT BE CANCELLED
Check your ticket(s) before leaving the retailer location to verify the
numbers and the date printed are correct. Mega Millions tickets can not be
cancelled.
HOW TO PLAY MEGAPLIER
Megaplier is a special feature that allows a winner to multiply the original
prize amount. Megaplier players can multiply their Mega Millions prizes by
2, 3, or 4 times (does not include jackpot). The Match 5 prize with
Megaplier option will always be multiplied by 4X for $1 million cash prize.
The Megaplier number is picked at random before each draw. A player
must choose the Megaplier option when they buy their Mega Millions ticket.
Selecting the Megaplier option costs an additional $1 per game.
WHEN TO PLAY
You can try your luck seven days a week, 4:00 a.m. until terminals close at
3:30 a.m. or 10:45 p.m. on draw nights when the game closes. To avoid
last minute lines, play early.
PLAY IN ADVANCE
You can play your same Mega Millions numbers for up to 13 weeks in
advance! With the MULTI DRAWS option on the playcard, you have the
ability to use your same numbers for up to 26 consecutive draws. Use this
area on the playcard to select 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15, or 26 consecutive draws.
For a number of draws between 1 and 26 not listed, you cannot use a
playcard. Ask your retailer to use the Quick Pick option or have your
numbers entered manually into the Lottery terminal..
SUBSCRIPTIONS!
The New York Lottery offers subscriptions to Mega Millions. A Mega
Millions subscription form can be downloaded and printed or you can
complete a subscription application through the Subscription Center
website by clicking here.
