1. Does the department have funding for the proposed increase upon completion of the program?
2. Has the need for the higher duties been confirmed in writing by the Dean, Director, or Chair?
3. Are the new duties to be assumed additional and not taken from other positions in the unit?
4. Will the employee retain all of the key responsibilities of the current position?
5. Will the new duties comprise at least 20%, but less than 50% of the total FTE of the position?
6. Is the employee past the probationary period?
7. Has the employee received a “Meets Expectation” or higher on the last performance evaluation?
8. Is the employee currently free from disciplinary action?
If all questions have been answered “Yes”, please work with your employee to complete the In-Range Career Ladder - Initiation Form.
If any answer is “No”, the employee is not eligible for an In-Range Career Ladder at this time.
