            1.a.    Approval of Agreement between the Sachem Central School District and
                    Babbage Net School

                    RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that, upon the recommendation of the
                    Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves the agreement
                    between Sachem Central School District and Babbage Net School to provide a
                    learning management system server allowing teachers to present online courses
                    within the school district. Within this capacity, the consultant will provide the
                    following, including, but not limited to: unlimited number of courses, unlimited
                    number of users, unlimited number of teachers, unlimited support requests,
                    maintenance of a server to provide students and staff with access to the courses,
                    support for all teachers and teacher center staff, support for all students enrolled in
                    the courses, creation of new courses, and archiving and removal of old courses.
                    The fee for this service is $10,000.00 being paid through the Sachem Teacher
                    Center. This agreement shall be from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. This
                    contract has been reviewed and approved by the school district’s attorney.”

1.b. Approval of Agreement between the Sachem Central School District and
     Tams-Witmark Music Library, Inc.
      RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that upon the recommendation of the
      Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves the agreement
      between Sachem Central School District and Tams-Witmark Music Library, Inc.
      for the Samoset Middle School to rent items for a school play entitled “Bye Bye
      Birdie.” The cost for this service is $650.00 and $335.00 for each additional
      consecutive performance. This will be paid for by the district. This contract has
      been reviewed and approved by the school district’s attorney.”



1.c. Approval of Agreement between the Sachem Central School District and RW
     Educational Strategies
      RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that upon the recommendation of the
      Superintendent of Schools the Board of Education approves the contract between
      Sachem Central School District and RW Educational Strategies to provide staff
      development in special education to teachers in school districts. The fee for this
      service is $800.00 per full day not to exceed $36,800.00 per school year. This has
      been budgeted in the Special Education code. This contract has been reviewed and
      approved by the school district’s attorney.”



1.d   Approval of Agreement between the Sachem Central School District and LI
      Technical Systems, Inc.
      RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that, upon the recommendation of the
      Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves the agreement
      between Sachem Central School District and LJ Technical Systems, Inc. to provide
      technical support services at Sagamore Middle School, Seneca Middle School,
      Sequoya Middle School, Samoset Middle School, High School North, and High
      School East at a cost of $12,000.00 per year.”




1.e   Approval of Agreement between the Sachem Central School District and
      BGC Consultants

      RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that, upon the recommendation of the
      Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves the agreement
      between Sachem Central School District and BGC Consultants, Inc. to provide in-
      service training for Instructional Support Teams/Response to Intervention and Co-
      Teaching during the months of September and February of the 2007-2008 school
      year. The fee for this is $800.00 per day for approximately 22 days for a total cost
      of $17,600.00. This is included in the federal funds budget. This contract has
      been reviewed and approved by the school district’s attorney.”

   1.f   Approval of Agreement between the Sachem Central School District and WE-
         TIP

         RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that, upon the recommendation of the
         Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves WE-TIP to provide
         access to a toll-free 24 hour hotline, open seven days a week and answered by
         trained operators. Students can anonymously report wrong doing and potential
         violence and remain absolutely anonymous. A Spanish speaking operator is also
         available on each shift. This is a safe and effective hotline that employs skilled
         operators to take information on tip forms that have been developed with the help
         of law enforcement to obtain the maximum amount of critical information.
         Appropriate posters, brochures, and stickers are provided to the district as an
         informational reminder of the WE-TIP anonymous hotline solution. This contract
         shall be in effect from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. The total cost of this
         service is $2500. This is included in the security budget. This agreement has been
         reviewed and approved by the school district’s attorney.”

4. Approval of Contract – Personnel Administrator

   Schools, the Board of Education approves the following resolution:”
   Be it Resolved, that the Board of Education hereby authorizes the President of the Board
   of Education to execute an employment agreement with Danielle Grandin for the period
   of July 16, 2007 to June 30, 2008.

   Schools, the Board of Education approve the increases set forth by the bargaining
   agreement between the Sachem Central School District and the UPSEU effective July 1,
   2006 through June 30, 2009 as the basis for increases for all managerial confidential
   employees and the District Clerk as specified in their individual contracts.”



6. Approval of New Middle School Athletic Teams

15. Approval Of Late Transportation Request For Private And Parochial Schools

   RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of
   Schools, the Board of Education approves the request for late transportation for private
   and parochial schools for 20 students at no additional cost to the district.”




16. Creation of Two (2) Strategic Instructional Model (SIM) Coach Positions

   RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of
   Schools, the Board of Education approve the creation of two positions entitled Strategic
   Instructional Model (SIM) coaches at the middle school level. Compensation is a
   stipend equivalent to that paid to a Principal’s Aide per the SCTA contract”




17. Appointment of Strategic Instructional Model (SIM) Coaches

   RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of
   Schools, the Board of Education appoint the following individuals as Strategic
   Instructional Model (SIM) Coaches for the 2007-08 school year."

18. Resolution to Reappoint Emergency Conditional Appointments

   RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of

   who have been previously appointed on an emergency conditional basis in accordance
   with chapter 147 of the Laws of 2001.”
