1. Mini Contracts
1.a. Approval of Agreement between the Sachem Central School District and
Babbage Net School
RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that, upon the recommendation of the
Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves the agreement
between Sachem Central School District and Babbage Net School to provide a
learning management system server allowing teachers to present online courses
within the school district. Within this capacity, the consultant will provide the
following, including, but not limited to: unlimited number of courses, unlimited
number of users, unlimited number of teachers, unlimited support requests,
maintenance of a server to provide students and staff with access to the courses,
support for all teachers and teacher center staff, support for all students enrolled in
the courses, creation of new courses, and archiving and removal of old courses.
The fee for this service is $10,000.00 being paid through the Sachem Teacher
Center. This agreement shall be from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. This
contract has been reviewed and approved by the school district’s attorney.”

1.b. Approval of Agreement between the Sachem Central School District and
Tams-Witmark Music Library, Inc.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that upon the recommendation of the
Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves the agreement
between Sachem Central School District and Tams-Witmark Music Library, Inc.
for the Samoset Middle School to rent items for a school play entitled “Bye Bye
Birdie.” The cost for this service is $650.00 and $335.00 for each additional
consecutive performance. This will be paid for by the district. This contract has
been reviewed and approved by the school district’s attorney.”

School East at a cost of $12,000.00 per year.”

RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that, upon the recommendation of the
Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves the agreement
between Sachem Central School District and BGC Consultants, Inc. to provide in-
service training for Instructional Support Teams/Response to Intervention and Co-
Teaching during the months of September and February of the 2007-2008 school
year. The fee for this is $800.00 per day for approximately 22 days for a total cost
of $17,600.00. This is included in the federal funds budget. This contract has
been reviewed and approved by the school district’s attorney.”

1.f Approval of Agreement between the Sachem Central School District and WE-
TIP
RECOMMENDED ACTION: “that, upon the recommendation of the
Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves WE-TIP to provide
access to a toll-free 24 hour hotline, open seven days a week and answered by
trained operators. Students can anonymously report wrong doing and potential
violence and remain absolutely anonymous. A Spanish speaking operator is also
available on each shift. This is a safe and effective hotline that employs skilled
operators to take information on tip forms that have been developed with the help
of law enforcement to obtain the maximum amount of critical information.
Appropriate posters, brochures, and stickers are provided to the district as an
informational reminder of the WE-TIP anonymous hotline solution. This contract
shall be in effect from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. The total cost of this
service is $2500. This is included in the security budget. This agreement has been
reviewed and approved by the school district’s attorney.”

16. Creation of Two (2) Strategic Instructional Model (SIM) Coach Positions

Schools, the Board of Education approve the creation of two positions entitled Strategic
Instructional Model (SIM) coaches at the middle school level. Compensation is a
stipend equivalent to that paid to a Principal’s Aide per the SCTA contract”
