Directions: Follow the numbered list, completing your portfolio. Raise your hand if you have a
question.
1. In my portfolio, under quick links:
a. Update My Personal Profile
b. Annual Portfolio Review
2. Click the Assessments & SDCAP, click on Matchmaker (you did this last year, if you want to
change your results, click delete results and redo the matchmaker; I suggest this), carefully
read the questions and click on your answers, save your matchmaker results.
a. You can improve results if you’d like (recommended)
b. Find some careers that interest you, and save them to your portfolio.
c. Read through the general information
d. Find 2 careers, save them, read through them, and then click on Sample Career Path and
fill out the information for each career below.

3. Go up and Click on Careers
a. Search by School Subject
i. Find at least one career that interests you based on your favorite school subject
and save it to your portfolio
b. Go back to Careers and click on 16 Career Clusters
i. Find at least one career that interests you based on one of the career clusters
and save it to your portfolio
4. Go back to your Portfolio and click on Career Preparation, Career Cluster Interests
a. Follow the directions and save your specific thoughts.
5. Click on Career Preparation, Career Planning Activities
a. You’ve found some careers and read about what it takes to have that career
b. Find at least one activity that would be helpful for that career and save it.
6. You now start building your resume: Click on Activities and Abilities
a. Extracurricular Activities-this can be outside school activities also; make sure you click
‘yes, I have reviewed and revise this section of my portfolio’.
b. Hobbies and Interests-be specific
c. Award and Certificates-be very specific
7. Click Service Learning; if you have done any community service, and enter that
8. Click Work Experience; if you have any work experience, and enter that
9. Click the Resume Builder tab, fill that out and save your resume. There will be some
formatting changes needed. When you get it all done, save it, and print it.
