My Career Choice
Fundamentals of Web Design
Purpose: To explore your career choice and create a webpage that details your career choice
Instructions:
1. Log onto the Career Cruising website http://www.careercruising.com/and explore your
career choice. Username: blue Password: devils. Directions are included on the screen of
how to search for a particular job. Use the SEARCH BOX to search for your specific
location. If you are not sure, take the career matchmaker assessment.
2. For the body of the web page you are going to provide information provided on your career
including the Nature of the Work, the Working Conditions, Employment, Training,
Qualifications and Advancement, Job Outlook, and Earnings for your chosen career area.
Create a web page that contains these basic points: (additional information may be included
to add interest)
Career Choice
Overview of the Career—what this career is all about? In general, what is the career
all about?
Work Activities-Daily Tasks—on an average day, what would you do in this position.
Outlook of the Career: When did it begin? How did it begin? How will it change in
the near future? How will technology influence your career? Will there be a growth or
decline in job opportunities in the career?
Job Skills: What skills are needed to do this job? What technical skills are needed to do
this job?
Education: What type of education do you need for this job? Which school can you
attend in Georgia for this education? What school can you attend outside of Georgia?
What type of program of study is required for this career choice? What is the cost of
the school? How long will it take to get the education required for this career choice?
Salary Range: How much money can you make doing this type of job? What is the
beginning salary and the average salary of a person in this career? What other perks
come with the your career choice? What steps do you have to take to get a higher
salary?
Nature of the Work/Physical Demands: What tasks or activities will you do on a daily
basis?
Working Conditions/Work Setting: What type of work environment will you work in?
What type of dress code will be required? Will you interact with people or work alone?
Personal Interest in Career: Why are you interested in this career? What makes you
think you want to do this type of work?
3. For the format the page, use the coding practices that you know to create an appealing page.
The minimum requirements include:
Put information in a table. First column topic, second column information. Use a
color in your table and format the width to 650.

Overview of Career As their title implies, website designers design
Internet sites. This means that they plan how the
site will be constructed or laid out, and what it will
look like. First, they make sure that the layout is
user-friendly so that people can find information
quickly and easily. Second, they plan the look and
feel of the website to accurately reflect the style
and purpose of the site’s content and to maximize
impact.

Lists can be used for formatting: bullets, numbers, definition list

Background image on the page.
