PP: Yeah, um, have you ever been seen here before?
Pimp: Uh, no no.
PP: Okay. Do you think you’ve been exposed, or you just want to get tested?
Pimp: Uh... could I... is there someone i can talk to about it.

Pimp: Yeah. I just passing through. I'm just visiting from somewhere. ... But uh, is it possible
that I can just talk to someone before I pull out all the extra information. Because it doesn't make
sense to pull out all the extra information.
PP: ...one of our health center assistants can actually talk to you.
Pimp: Is there like a manager or something I could talk to or something? If he's not busy...
PP: Umm. I can check.......

Pimp: what's your name?
P: Samantha. nice to meet you.
Pimp: Good to meet you.
PP: So what's going on?
Pimp: Basically, I don’t know if I caught something, this person I was with, I dunno, uh, but,
like, I kinda want to know some information about how I know I got something. Uh. If there's a
little bit of burning or what not. Is that?
PP: Is it only when you urinate, or...?
Pimp: I just started feeling it recently, so its uh... I didnt really keep track. i just felt it and i was
like woah.
PP: Is that in the only symptom that you have?
Pimp: Yeah so far
PP: Ok, um, there's really no way we can tell unless we test you. Sometimes guys get urinary
tract infection, but it’s not very often, so it could be that. Or that could be a symptom of
Chlamydia or Gonorrhea. I would recommend getting tested.
Pimp: How much is testing?
PP: Um, let’s see, you don’t have insurance?
Pimp: No
PP: Probably, lets’ say, probably around $80 to$ 100 for just Chlamydia and Gonorrhea
Pimp: How long till I find out?
29400
PP: If we test you today we send it out we get the results back in like two days.
Pimp: Ok. That could work, that could work. Alrigh, hmm. Alright, I have some other questions..
Um. Is it confidential, talking in here?
PP: Mhm.
Pimp: So, I’m involved in sex work. Like, you know, I’m a, okay. There are some girls I
kinda manage. I think I might’ve caught it from one of 'em. And uh, I dunno if they might
have something. If they are gonna definitely need to be tested. And I’m not sure how they
gonna come in here to get tested.
PP: Ok, um. If you are tested and you're positive, your partners can come in here and they would
just need to see the clinician and they would be given prescriptions. I’m pretty sure that’s how
that works.
Pimp: Ok
PP: But everything we do here is confidential
Pimp: Ok
PP: Otherwise, um, you could probably go to the free clinic. And I know they don't need any
information, they just give you a number.
31800
Pimp: Ah ok. Now what about birth control? 'Cause some of them, they gonna need birth control.
Definitely. Definitely.
PP: Ok. Um, for birth control, we could do that too. Um, ya know, we could do everything in one
visit. Um. You mean like cost-wise, or health insurance?
Pimp: No, we don’t have health insurance. So cost-wise, fine?
PP: Let me go check on the price for birth control and if their partner is positive.
Pimp: Birth control, also testing and what not. Also things like condoms. You guys have stuff
that you’re able to give out?
PP: We do have free condoms in our library but other than that we can't give any other birth
control out.
Pimp: Do you guys have like, the pill? for them?
PP: Mhm.
Pimp: Ok, 'cause the main thing is keepin them safe. ... Alright now, let me see, do you know a
ball park figure? 'Cause we'll probably have to come back.
PP: For our regular offices that I know for just birth control is around $60 to $70 approximate.
Pimp: Oh that’s not bad.
34200
PP: No. And if they wanted to get treated, I would say it would probably be an extra $30 to $40
maybe, so probably around $110, $120 for everything. And we give them a year's prescription of
birth control.
Pimp: Oh wow! Oh wow! Ok. Ok. Ok. Um. I'm also wondering so some of them may have a
hard time coming in to facilities and stuff like that, its kinda real scary. You don’t know people.
PP: Right.
Pimp: So that's why I asked about the confidentiality. But like, some of them, kinda young.
Ya know, like 14-17 type range. But some of them are from like out of this country though.
So its like they don’t speak that good English. So would I come in here and help them fill out
the paperwork, or fill out the information because they have a hard time reading it, hard time
knowing it, they gotta be walked through it. Otherwise, they not gonna get any help, they just
gonna leave. You know?
PP: Right.
Pimp: So.
PP: We do have translation services here. Um. How, what are the ages of them again?
Pimp: From 14 to about 17.
PP: Ok. Um-
Pimp: You guys’ll be able to help them out and stuff?
PP: I mean-
Pimp: Keep ‘em safe and what not?
PP: We do see teens and stuff, young. We do encourage parental involvement.
Pimp: Yeah, yeah. Oh I mean I definitely try my best to make sure everything is safe for
them. Especially if you provide things like condoms and birth control. And testing is huge.
Huge. Prices are good. They really good. Yeah, wanna be able to keep 'em safe. Have 'em come
in here, stay safe. I know they gonna be a little skittish of the facility, it looks a government
facility. They not gonna just walk in here. Ok. So you said I could just bring 'em in here and I
could just help them do it, walk them through it, so they can stay safe and what not.
38200
PP: Mhmmm.
Pimp: Ok. Do you have like a card, so I could remember who I talked to so I know that I
have the information.
PP: Oh I don't have a card. Anybody here can help you. Everything here is confidential.
We can't give any information out.
Pimp: Ok. Ok. Alright, alright. Can you write your name on a card, that way I know-
PP: Sure.
Pimp: Thank you, thank you.
[waiting for clinician]
42300
PP: Can't exactly give you my name. But this is the card if you wanted to call back. And if you
did want to be seen by the clinician you would have to have paperwork filled out.
Pimp: Ok thank you. Thank you for your help. What was your name again?
PP: Samantha
Pimp: Samantha, alright.
