Introduction
Welcome to the technical overview section of the DistribuLine website. This area
is an invaluable resource for Owners, administrators and technicians.
DistribuLine operates off of Windows 2000—standards-based security, improving
manageability and reliability with the best of breed ASP features, such as an
easy-to-use user interface, and innovative support services integrated in the
software.
Hardware
The standard server that your DistribuLine site will run off of consists of dual
Pentium 3 processors with Intel motherboard, one gigabyte of ram, three 18.6
gigabyte Raid 5 hard drives, and a 10/100 mbps Intel Network Interface Card.
Software
Your DistribuLine site will run off of Windows 2000 server with IIS 5.0 and a SQL
Server 2000 Database. The application was developed with ASP, DLL’s, and
COM+ objects.
Security
The facility that holds your DistribuLine server provides a standard hardware
based firewall, nightly off-site backups, redundant power supply, and redundant
Internet connection feeds.
Inventory
Your DistribuLine site has two ways of tracking inventory. We can provide live
inventory feeds into your existing database, or we can customize your
DistribuLine software to keep its own separate inventory counts, with you having
the ability to add counts to your products.
Customization
DistribuLine provides a wide variety of customization options that will allow the
software to work within your industry’s particular needs.

The Database design provides for rapid expansion to fit your organization’s
needs. Your DistribuLine database can tie directly into your organization’s
existing database.
Retailer Portal
DistribuLine allows for Retailers to customize their own store, set markups on
individual or group products, add their own products, track their orders, set
markups on shipping carriers, customize the look of the retailer site, add their
own HTML, choose pricing levels for individual customers, choose payment
options for their site, and choose which states they are taxable in.
Vendor Portal
The Vendor Portal will give you control over your entire DistribuLine site. You
have the ability to create new retailers, modify their status, choose which
products are available to the retailers, view all orders, set up tax rates for states,
determine payment types retailers are allowed to use, write a customized terms
and conditions, and the ability to modify existing products in the database.
