     Solage Calistoga’s Signature Restaurant Recognized For Second Consecutive Year In
                              Michelin’s 2011 Bay Area Guide

       CALISTOGA, CALIF. (October 26, 2010) – Solbar, the signature restaurant at Napa
Valley’s Solage Calistoga resort, has been honored with a Michelin star for the second year in a
row in the new Michelin Guide San Francisco, Bay Area & Wine Country 2011, released today.
Internationally recognized as the preeminent culinary authority, Michelin named Solbar among
an elite group of just 44 Bay Area restaurants as the best of the best. To evaluate restaurants
included in the influential guide, highly trained Michelin inspectors anonymously visit each
establishment, provide objective assessments and judge on five criteria: the quality of products
used, the mastering of flavors and cooking, the “personality” of the cuisine, and the value and the
consistency of dishes prepared.

dedication of Executive Chef Brandon Sharp and his culinary team to continually raise the bar on
cuisine in Napa Valley and the Bay Area.”
       The 125-seat Solbar offers a fresh interpretation of wine country cuisine in a decidedly
relaxed environment, with special emphasis on the restaurant’s indoor-outdoor setting. Leading
Solbar’s culinary team is Executive Chef Brandon Sharp, whose pedigree includes tenures at
Michelin star-rated Gary Danko in San Francisco, Restaurant August in New Orleans and the
world-renowned French Laundry in Napa Valley.
       Fully in command at Napa Valley’s Michelin star-rated Solbar, Sharp has pulled off what
few resort chefs can in making a hotel dining room a true destination restaurant. Sharp’s innate
sense of how people want to eat comes to life in Solbar’s menu, offering both hearty, indulgent
dishes as well as lighter, healthful selections. Sharp’s efforts in evolving wine country fare has
earned him a loyal following local winemakers, who can be seen dining at Solbar on any given

awarded Solbar a three-star rating. Born and raised in the South, Sharp has a penchant for down-
home southern cooking that is reinterpreted with the fresh produce and seasonal aesthetic
of classic Napa Valley cuisine.
          Solbar’s menu also reflects a commitment to sourcing ingredients locally and organically,
evident in its partnership with neighboring Fisher Vineyards, home to Solbar’s year-round
culinary garden. The restaurant’s ever-evolving wine program features an exciting wine list with
playful language, one-of-a-kind wine flights and perfect pairings to complement Chef Sharp’s
dishes.
          Solbar is located at Solage Calistoga, an 89-room design-focused, environmentally
focused resort featuring the award-winning Spa Solage, a full-service spa offering treatments
