strokes

• Heart disease

• Diabetes type II

• Arteriosclerosis

• Cancers-breast and colon

• Surgery risks

• The longer fat is on the body, the

harder it is to get rid of it.

over fat?

• Height and weight charts are not good

to use because muscle weighs more

than fat.

• Fat tests

–Underwater

–Ultra sound

–Electrical impedance

– Teens @ 16%

• Females

– Adults @ 22%

– Teens @ 20%

People try to lose fat by…



• Fad diets



• Fasting



• Diet pills

• A combination of a healthy diet and

exercise is the safest and most long

lasting way to lose fat.

• A good goal should be to lose no more

than 2 pounds a week. Drastic weight

loss usually involves loss of muscle

and it also slows metabolism.
