Lync user experience sessions

As part of the Lync roll-out, we will be offering your Department Lync user experience sessions.
The purpose of the session is to give staff an overview of the new Lync system and to build their
confidence in the use of the new system. The user experience session is your opportunity to try out
Lync in a safe environment and to ask questions.
The session takes the format of an overview of Lync with the opportunity to ask questions followed by
a practical session in which staff can try out the new Lync system.
The overview will cover the following
Introduction to the handset.
Presence and the presence indicator, manually setting your availability.
Indicating your location.
The address book and finding contacts
Setting up contacts and contact groups.
Managing your ringtones.
Setting up a team call group and simultaneously ring.
Delegates and the difference to a team call group.
Voicemails :
receiving voicemail
Listening to voicemail.
Setting your voicemail greeting
Setting up a voice conference, in the future.
The practical session will cover the following
Making and answering a call.
Forwarding a call.
Setting up contacts and contact groups.
Setting your call forwarding settings, including setting up team call group (the replacement
four-star 6) simultaneously ring and forward my calls.
Setting up an audio conferencing link: both ad hoc and pre-planned.
Additional topics that can be covered include
Working collaboratively: sharing your desktop and applications with another user whilst on a
call.
Setting up and using a video conference in Lync.
