Lync Updates Via Microsoft Update
Once you have installed the Microsoft Lync 2010 client on your Windows computer the only way to
receive future patches and updates to the client is through Microsoft Update.
Microsoft update is NOT the same thing as Windows Update and you have to specifically setup your
computer to use Microsoft Update. Microsoft Update is an enhancement to the original Windows
Update service and is used to keep the Microsoft products installed on your computer up to date.
Outlined below are the instructions to enable Microsoft Update on Windows XP and Windows
Vista/Windows 7.
NOTE: Please be advised that if your computer has been restricted or if you are a Unit Supported
User then you may not have the necessary rights to make the following changes in either
Windows XP or Windows Vista/Windows 7 RC
