The meeting was called to order at 6:55 p.m. by Butch Lewis, President. Invocation by Ricky Green There were 56 members present. *** SECRETARY’S REPORT. The minutes of the January meeting were approved as printed in the January newsletter. All present reported receiving a copy of the newsletter via e-mail. Hard copies of the club by-laws, and newsletter were available. Short notice items and reminders go out by e-mail from the president or those heading up a particular activity so watch for e-mail with TRCC in the subject line. Please note - If you send an e-mail regarding club functions, please put TRCC in the subject line to provide a heads-up. *** TREASURER’S REPORT. Linda Mitchell delivered the treasurer’s report for the month of December 2010. Starting balance of $2,378.25. Income during the month was $79.00 from the December 50/50, $50.00 from 2011 membership dues and $579.50 collected for the Christmas Party ($261.00 was received previously) for a total of $708.50. Expenses were $75.00 for TRCC’s share of the Toy Run Trophy, $24.29 for newsletter supplies, $225.00 to cover the cost of 12 meals and coffee for the Toy Run luncheon, $840.00 for the Christmas Club Party at the River Bend Country Club, $175.00 for DJ services at the Xmas Party and $12.95 for December Yahoo for a total of $1,352,24. Monthly ending balance of $1,734.51. This balance includes $200.00 in the Brick Fund. Linda Mitchell delivered the treasurer’s report for the month of January 2011.. Starting balance of $1,734.51. Income during the month was $100.00 from membership dues. Expenses were $12.95 for January Yahoo. Month ending balance of $1,821.56. This balance includes $200.00 in the Brick Fund 2011 Club membership dues, in the amount of $25.00 are payable during the month of February. *** SOCIAL COMMITTEE REPORT. Kathy Petrichko, Vice President and social director, gave a report on the club’s social activities. Several recent events were reviewed and several upcoming events were outlined. Following are highlights of the events covered. Jan 14-15 2011 Tom Coltrain gave a report on the clubs trip to J R Motor Sports. The group consisted of 19 people and 11 cars. It was reported that everyone had a great time. Hopefully this will become an annual event for the club. th Feb 26 Tony’s Seafood Restaurant in Jacksonville. All four of the local corvette will meet @ Tony’s for lunch currently scheduled for 12N. Leave the New Bern Mall @ 10:30am. Depending on the number of people will affect the menu. If less than 50 people they can give us a separate room and everyone can order off the menu. Greater than 50 people and it will be a set meal. March John Mitchell has been approached about leading another Fun Rally, which he is considering. John has agreed to coordinate this but will be later in the year and he would like greater participation than for the last rally. th April 16 TRCC Spring Car display coordinated by Willard and Jean West. A $500.00 check from Joe Alcock was presented to Butch Lewis. Flyer and registration forms for the display will be available next month. Willard has asked that everyone begin collecting Door prizes for the display. There was some discussion regarding the scholarship whether it should again be presented to Dale Clearwater’s daughter to further her education or back to a student at the Automotive school at Craven community college. No decision was made at this time. th th May 27 – 29 Vettes in the Valley Maggie Valley NC. This trip will be coordinated by Tim Coltrain. At the present time Tim is th planning to leave New Bern on Friday the 27 with the car show on Saturday and Sunday. Contact Tim for further information and be on the look out for additional e-mails from Tim regarding this trip. th June 11 Duplin winery this trip will be coordinated by Phyllis Casey. This is an afternoon dinner show with a 60’s/70’s/80’s theme. The dinner begins at 11:45. Everyone should call the winery to make their reservations and please let them know you are with TRCC. th July 4 TRCC Picnic July The Fiore’s will again sponsor their Head For the Hills trip to the Shendonnah Valley th th Aug 25 -28 Corvettes at Carlisle. This trip will be coordinated by Paula Pacella and Bill Pacella. A 4 day pass is $40. and a th daily pass is $14. cost of rooms for this event is $119 and up. Paula is leaving on Thursday Aug 25 . On line pre-registration is available you should do so by July. Oct Mountain Trip Nov Veterans Day parade rd Dec 3 Mike Casey Toy Run Several other proposals were put forth for trips including but not limited to Deadwood and Bill Whites annual November trip to the Florida Keys, a trip the Outer Banks and Tale of the Dragon an event in the mountains on the NC/TN border. Kathy asked for those with ideas or wishing to plan an event to contact her to get it on the schedule. Kathy also requested that there be an official photographer for each event. ***** OLD BUSINESS: No old business NEW BUSINESS: The club welcomed the president of the Colonial Capitol Rods and classics club who spoke regarding their upcoming car display in March at the New Bern mall. Butch tested everyone’s knowledge of corvette history and gave away raffle tickets to everyone with the correct answers. ***** CORVETTE HAPPENINGS AND MISCELLANEOUS CLUB ITEMS. Tim reported that his radio is out so he has no XM. Bill Powers bought himself a 2010 corvette The 50/50 was won by our newest member Arnol Lamb and he took home $122.00 . No further business was presented and the meeting was adjourned at 8:05 PM. CLUB INFORMATION FOR NEW MEMBERS: Club business size cards are available. They are nice to hand out to prospective members or Corvette contacts. Club windshield decals are available. Each new member gets a free decal. Additional ones are $1.00. New club members desiring club attire: D & S Embroidery in Newport does our club logo work. They will do their hats or shirts or put the logo and name on items that you provide. They are also working on a large logo for coats. If any member needs club attire contact DS&S Embroidery and Screen-printing, 9l6 Roberts Rd. Newport, N. C.
