Ordinary Time
First Week
Year II
Year I
Mon.
Mon.
The time of fulfillment is at hand:
God has spoken to us through His Son; Fruit shall come from the barren land.
Let all the angels worship Him. Hannah shall give birth to Samuel,
He is the Most High over all the earth – And the Word be proclaimed through
Let us heed His powerful word. the apostles.
Let us, too, be fishers of men, Do not grieve any longer;
Like those who left all to follow Him. The reign of God is near.
Let us join our Lord, Jesus, Be His servant, His handmaid,
In proclaiming the good news. And He shall loose you from your bonds.
Tues. Tues.
All things are under Christ’s feet; Ask of the Lord what you will;
It is He who speaks with authority. It will be done for you by His word.
Commanding even angels and devils, Hannah prayed in tears before the Lord,
There is nothing not subject to Jesus’ will. And so gave birth to Samuel.
His death has brought life to our state; The barren wife bears a noble son.
His sacrifice made us His brothers. An unclean spirit is cast from a man.
And so we share in His glory and honor By the Lord alone are all things done –
As in the assembly His name we praise. Listen well to His teaching.
Wed. Wed.
Preaching and expelling demons, Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.
Jesus laid down His life for us. Behold, I come to do your will.
And when He died upon the cross, Rising from sleep, seek to serve Him,
He expiated all our sins. Never restraining your lips.
The devil himself is robbed of power – Do what He calls you to do;
Death has no more dominion. Be as faithful as Jesus and Samuel.
The Lord’s servants now wait on Him, Ears open to obedience the Lord gives you –
Healed by His touch and His word. Do not continue to lie ill.
First Week (contd.)
Year I Year II
Thurs. Thurs.
Be not of erring heart; The Lord goes not forth with our armies;
Grow not hardened by sin’s deceit. Mockery and scorn are on all sides.
Kneel before the Lord by whom you Though our enemies defeat us,
were made – Yet we pray the Lord will hear our cry.
He will touch you with His hand.
Our souls bowed down to the dust,
Moved with pity the Lord does heal us We must come in humility
Of all our disobedient ways. To find the grace of our Savior Jesus,
But we must love even as Jesus – And the courage to fight manfully.
Encourage one another while it is still
today.
Fri.
Fri. Jesus is our holy king;
All authority is given to Him.
We must have faith to enter God’s rest, It is He who conquers all our sin,
To find healing for all our sins. That we might stand and walk again.
And to our children we must teach
the same, Be not like the faithless of Israel
Not being like our faithless fathers. Who rejected God as their king.
Seek none other to rule you or fight
Our Father in heaven waits for us – your battles –
Let us strive to enter into His rest. Give praise to the Lord for all things.
Like the friends of the paralytic man,
Let us make our faith evident to Him.
Sat.
Sat. Jesus sits and eats with sinners
To heal their sick souls.
Tax collectors and sinners came to Jesus But those who look upon appearance
To receive mercy and favor, His goodly blessings will never know.
To find help in time of need –
With confidence come to His table of grace. Though Saul be quite tall and handsome,
Though the Pharisees possess wisdom,
The fear of the Lord endures forever, Yet these shall be rejected
Ever finding His sympathy. For those who come humbly to God.
Judge not the Lord’s forgiving power:
Subject your soul to His piercing eye.
Second Week in Ordinary Time
Sun. (A)
Jesus is the Son of God,
The blessed Servant of the LORD
Who fulfills the Father’s will,
And by Him all are called.
Isaiah is called as God’s prophet,
Paul to be an apostle of Christ,
The Baptist to watch for the Spirit –
And you to be sanctified.
Sun. (B)
Glorify God in your body;
Be quick to answer His call.
Make yourself the Spirit’s temple –
Live in innocence and purity.
As a youth in the temple Samuel is called
And is ready to serve the Lord.
And the call of Peter is a call to us all,
For upon him God’s Church is built.
Sun. (C)
A bridegroom rejoices in his bride,
And Jesus in His holy Church.
The LORD espouses us as His delight…
Announce His glory to all the earth.
Jesus revealed His glory at a wedding feast,
Changing the water into wine.
And now the gifts of the Spirit are born in us
As we worship the LORD in holy attire.
Second Week (contd.)
Year I Year II
Mon. Mon.
Jesus is a priest forever, Do not reject the Lord’s command;
Without beginning or end. Question not His word and His way.
For our sake prayers He offers – Do not despise His discipline –
He is the wine of the new covenant. Offer God glorious praise.
Let our skins be ready to receive Him, Obedience is better than sacrifice:
To benefit from His sacrifice. Do not presume to know God’s mind.
He is the source of eternal salvation Whether in fasting or in feasting,
Designated by God Most High. Your heart must be with Him.
Tues. Tues.
Seize the hope placed before you, Not as man sees does God see:
The hope that extends beyond this veil. Appearance alone is what man sees;
Jesus has entered through the veil But the Lord looks into the heart –
To bring His people holy food. And so David, His servant, He anoints.
The Son of Man has entered God’s house How vainly the Pharisees protest,
And shares with us His holy bread. Unable to see into the Law’s heart.
Thus is the covenant fulfilled – The Sabbath was made for man’s rest,
Inherit it in faith and patience. Not that he should foolishly starve.
Wed. Wed.
King of justice and King of peace, God is our shield and deliverer,
The Son of God remains a priest forever. Who trains our hands for war.
There is no other like our Jesus: He subdues peoples under us –
He holds indomitable power. The battle is indeed the Lord’s.
The plot of the Pharisees will fall short; David slays Goliath,
They could never destroy Him. And Jesus the Pharisees.
His power to save extends the sabbath – Close not your mind against your God,
Come to Him ever for healing. Or He will look on you angrily.
Second Week (contd.)
Year I Year II
Thurs. Thurs.
Jesus lives to make intercession, Saul has slain his thousands,
Always able to save those who approach And David his ten thousands…
Him. And Jesus His millions of unclean spirits –
And so the multitudes press against Him; None escape the power of this King.
They come from all around for healing.
Call upon the name of the Lord,
The crowds push forward to touch Him; And your enemies shall be turned back.
Devils fling themselves down at His feet… As David is saved from the anger of Saul,
For He offers Himself for our salvation – So you from those who press their attack.
The Son of God has been revealed.
Fri.
Fri.
David respects the Lord’s anointed,
The new covenant is now upon us; Not killing his pursuer, Saul.
The Lord has forgotten our sins. Surely David shall be king,
His Law in our minds and on our hearts, With sovereignty over Israel.
We become a new creation.
It is the Lord who gives authority;
That our land might yield its increase All power and glory are in His hand.
And salvation walk the way of His steps, Jesus appoints the Twelve to preach
Jesus sends forth His apostles and heal –
That all might be God’s people. God’s kindness and faithfulness are
with them.
Sat.
Sat.
The blood of Christ will cleanse your
conscience; David does seem out of his mind,
He is the unblemished sacrifice. Mourning the man who would have
Upon His throne the Lord now sits – killed him.
Enter into this Holy of Holies. But his love is as the love of God,
And so he weeps for God’s chosen.
At Jesus’ door the crowds assemble,
Seeking but to enter His presence. May the Lord look upon our tears,
And there they find a ready welcome – Rouse His power, and come to save us.
With all who come He shares His Bread. May He scatter our enemies –
May we find admittance to His House.
Third Week in Ordinary Time
Sun. (A)
Upon the people who sit in darkness,
A great light has dawned and joy abounds.
The bounty of the Lord is upon us;
Let us faithfully follow Him.
The Lord is our light and our salvation;
Let us ever seek to dwell in His House.
Peter and the apostles as our foundation –
Our hearts set on Jesus’ cross.
Sun. (B)
Do the Lord’s will and walk in His way;
Repent of your sin and follow Him.
The world as we know it is passing away –
Come to God’s holy kingdom.
Like Jonah who set out for Nineveh,
Like the disciples who walk with Jesus,
Be prepared to go as the Lord does call…
Humbly believe in the Gospel.
Sun. (C)
The scroll is opened before our eyes:
Jesus stands as the Word fulfilled.
Today is holy to the LORD;
Rejoice as you listen attentively.
The teaching of the Lord is quite clear,
Enlightening both eye and ear.
And the body He makes whole –
May the Spirit refresh your weary soul.
Third Week (contd.)
Year I Year II
Mon. Mon.
Jesus plunders Satan’s house: How the people desire David to be king;
He spreads His arms upon the cross, Yet how the scribes reject Jesus’ way,
And sin and death are thus destroyed – Calling His Spirit unclean –
Victory is won by the hand of the LORD. But these blind guides will not drive
Him away.
Since Christ died once to take away
our sins, The LORD is with His anointed King;
We may receive His eternal inheritance. Jesus is David’s Son.
He has been judged in our place; It is He who reigns in Jerusalem,
Let us offer our king songs of praise. For He is the Father’s flesh and bone.
Tues. Tues.
Jesus came into the world The ark of God comes to Jerusalem
To do the will of His Father; To shouts of joy and the sound of the horn.
Whoever does the will of God David offers holocausts to the LORD
Is His brother and sister and mother. And gives food to all in the multitude.
By the will of the Father, Let the King of glory enter your house;
We are sanctified by the offering of Christ. Listen well as you sit at His feet.
Unite with the body of your Brother – Rejoice that the Lord is in your midst,
In the assembly announce His justice. Making you one of His holy family.
Wed. Wed.
Humbly let us receive your word, Lord; David’s throne stands firm forever;
Write your name upon our hearts. His kingdom is eternal.
Your seed take root in our lives – For it is established by the Lord…
Let us bear the fruit of your sacrifice. It is planted on good soil.
Our sins and transgressions forgotten, The promise to David is fulfilled:
The ground is prepared for His reign. It comes to full growth in Jesus.
His princely power is upon us In the Son the Father’s House is built
As He rules in the midst of our enemies. And remains ever with us.
Third Week (contd.)
Year I Year II
Thurs. Thurs.
Let the pure light of Christ shine in Bless the house of your servant, Lord,
your life, That it may stand before you forever.
Your heart sprinkled clean from all evil. Fulfill your promise to us, Lord,
This world’s vanities do not desire – In your love let us find good measure.
Enter God’s sanctuary through the veil.
The Lord shines in the house of David;
Rouse each other to love and good deeds; He is the God of Israel.
Seek together the face of the Lord. And His light shall not be hid –
The more you give, the more you receive… In her forever He will dwell.
In Jesus find your eternal reward.

David sleeps as his men battle,
You need patience to do God’s will And spies a woman very beautiful;
And receive what He has promised. He is led to lust by his sloth,

And soon comes to fruitfulness. As from small seeds, large shrubs grow,
And the kingdom rises from the Word
The just man will live by faith, sown…
Trusting in the Lord and doing good. So sin in the heart leads inevitably
For the faithful, heaven awaits… To the most evil of deeds.
Gradually they enter the reign of God.

Free us from blood guilt, O God!
A city is prepared for those of faith, Our boat is overcome by the storm.
Though our eyes see it from afar this day. We have sinned against you, Lord –
Even in this dark land, it draws near Our lust has devoured the poor ewe lamb.
As we serve God devoutly, rid of fear.
We have brought forth children unto death;
Why are you so lacking in faith Because of our sin the Son is killed.
Because of the wind and the waves? Oh let Him rise and deliver your justice,
God is able to raise from the dead; Renewing our souls in the Spirit.
Look toward your home in heaven.
Fourth Week in Ordinary Time
Sun. (A)
God chose the lowly as His own;
He raises those who are bowed down.
A people humble and lowly He blesses –
They inherit the land of heaven.
Hunger and thirst for righteousness;
Secure justice for the oppressed.
Have mercy upon all poor souls,
And in the Lord you will boast.
Sun. (B)
Jesus teaches with authority;
Give Him your undivided attention.
If today His voice you hear,
Harden not your heart against Him.
The prophet speaks the words of God,
And Jesus Himself is God speaking.
The devils flee at His command;
He is the Lord to whom you must listen.
Sun. (C)
The Lord stands up and tells the people
All His Father commands Him to say.
Let us endure the severity of His call
Until in love we see Him face to face.
Jeremiah is strengthened from the womb;
Jesus is delivered from the hands of men.
A fortified city, a pillar of iron,
The LORD makes all who take refuge in Him.

Year I Year II
Thurs. Thurs.
We find our joy on Mount Zion; David reigned for forty years,
In the city of God we make our home. But the Lord our God reigns for ever.
In the heavenly Jerusalem we dwell In Him alone is sovereignty –
With Jesus, and the saints and angels. It is He who gives strength and power.
But the way to our City is a dusty road; The Twelve are given authority:
On the journey we take no bag, no food… They go forth expelling unclean spirits.
All we carry is the cross of Christ – Observing the Lord’s eternal decrees,
In Him we have all we need or desire. It is they who sit on the throne of David.
Fri. Fri.
Consider how John the Baptist died, David sang praise to the Lord,
Faithful to the word of God. Who gave great victories to His king.
Though violence and lust closed in on him, A Rock of strength ever was God
The Lord was his refuge, even in prison. To David who was a sacred offering.
Herod entertained an angel in his dungeon; The Baptist, too, offers his life,
John was his dishonored guest. Taking refuge in God all the while.
Because he chose rather to feed his lust, Though beheaded because of Herodias,
In fear he now hears of Jesus’ reputation. He comes to life in the Lord Jesus.

The Lord heals the brokenhearted;
He binds up the wounds of those hurting.
For the weak He has become weak,
That He might save us who are the least.
Jesus cures the sick and preaches the Word;
He drives out demons throughout the land.
None is more miserable than Job,
Yet he, too, shall see happiness again.
Sun. (C)
Depart from me, Lord, for I am sinful;
I am a man of unclean lips,
Not fit to be called an apostle –
