TEAS stands for Test of Essential Academic Skills. This is a 3 ½ hour four-part examination
that consists of 170 items that are multiple-choice based assessments. The content includes:
Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and Language Usage. These entry level skills
were deemed important for nursing program applicants by a panel of nursing program
curriculum experts. The exam is a proctored computerized assessment. Pencil and scrap
paper (furnished by the school) will be allowed for calculations; calculators are not
permitted.
It is highly recommended that interested applicants go to www.atitesting.com and/or
www.atitesting.com/onlinestore to learn more and purchase test preparation materials (the
Study Manual for the Test of Essential Academic Skills Version V). All eligible candidates
must have an overall score that is at or above the National PN level. You will receive your
printed results upon completion of the test. If you have previously taken the TEAS test and
received an acceptable score at a different institution within the past year, we will accept
these scores. Clinton Technical School has several copies of the Study Manual for the TEAS
to be checked out for one week with a deposit of $50, cash or money order (refunded when
the manual is returned in good condition).
The exam must be scheduled by calling 660-885-6101. The cost of the exam for first-time
takers is $50. We will allow students to re-take the exam once during the application period,
at a cost of $35.
The exam will be given in the Community Education Room at the Clinton Technical School
and/or other available specified computer labs within the building. Please arrive at least 15
minutes prior to the scheduled test time. You must bring a picture I.D. and the $50 fee, if
you have not paid in advance.
Please go to www.atitesting.com to create an account before your testing date. Bring your
username and password with you on the day of your scheduled test.
