Cuidad Real is a small suburban city, the capital of the Castilla la Mancha region. As
a city it is not particularly popular or cultural, but it is modern with excellent shops,
galleries and restaurants. It is very central in Spain, providing a fantastic base for
touring the country. It is one hour from Toledo, 2 hrs drive from Madrid or 40 mins on
train. It‟s an hour train journey to Cordoba, Seville and Almagro and the many little
windmill villages in the area. http://www.castillalamancha.es/
This home, built about 7 years ago, is an attached „condo‟ style home with 4 stories.
It is a lovely, bright, comfortable, clean and convenient base for anyone wishing to
explore the area.
The main floor has full bathroom, an open „American‟ style kitchen to the living room
and sliding doors to the terrace overlooking the patio with a door to the shared
garden and swimming pool. The bottom floor has a small kitchen play/TV room and a
second entrance to the patio, a full bathroom, garage and laundry room. Upstairs are

sports/skateboard type court and fairly large enclosed pool for the community.
It is usually very quiet and relaxed in the morning but as there are children in the
community, it becomes livelier in the afternoon after 6 pm. In Spain people like to
stay by the pool to about 9pm, then its dinner time and sometimes children play

This terraced town house is located in the small town of Cox, close to Alicante, South
East Spain. It is 30 minutes on the motorway from the airport and 30 minutes from a
selection of stunning beaches.
The village itself is very Spanish with very few English people. There are a few public
swim pools around which are quite nice and usually by restaurants. Torrevieja is on
the coast where you can find British bars, fish „n chips etc! There are many other
much nicer beaches. This area is steeped in fascinating history.
From the house there are spectacular views of mountain ranges. It is only a 10 min
walk to the village plaza where there are cafes and an excellent ice-cream parlour.
The people are friendly, but not pushy, and crime rate is very low. You can safely
walk the streets at night.
Many streets have bars; the restaurants are a bit expensive for Spain but the quality
is very good. Most people do not speak English, so a phrase book is a good idea!
The house is quite new and built to a good standard. There are masses of books, a
DVD collection, and 24hr broadband internet connection. There is a big American
style fridge which dishes out cold water and ice cubes! Air conditioning is throughout
the house.
There is no garden but they do have a balcony and a barbecue.
„Iglesia Evangelica Cristiana‟ is an independent Pentecostal church.
The husband, who is English, went out to Spain 15 years ago as a missionary.
Currently he is one of two pastors of a new church plant. The style of worship is
midway between traditional and contemporary, and services are in Spanish. There
would be a warm welcome, however, with a great deal of „sign‟ language!

martial arts training, gym, indoor pool, sauna, and aerobics. Also
squash courts and 2 other gyms in the village. 5 golf courses
