Part of learning about microscopes is learning about how they work! Today you will watch a video about light
and lenses (optics) and we will apply the information you learn to your study of microscopes. Before we start
the video, take a look at the following questions you will be listening for the answers to while you watch.

   1. What is refraction and when does it happen?
       Refraction is……

      Refraction happens when……..

   2. What does a concave lens look like and how does it make images look?
                                            It makes an image…

   3. What does a convex lens look like and how does it make images look?
                                            It makes an image…

   4. What’s the focal point?

   5. How is what you learned in the video related to your eye? (write at least 3 sentences and
include what type of lens is in your eye and the location of the focal point in your eye)

   6. After the video is over, look over your answers and write a sentence about how you think
microscopes probably work (be sure to use the information you learned during the video!)
